The Clinical Applications Specialist II maintains changes to referential data across assigned clinical applications. The Clinical Applications Specialist II reviews monthly clinical updates and keeps application data current with industry standards. The Clinical Applications Specialist II supports the implementation of new functionality in the application, such as new interfaces, by contributing to clinical requirements definition, participating in testing and developing related workflows. The Clinical Applications Specialist II assesses impact of changes to the quality of care given using the clinical application, tests new and existing functionality prior to application upgrades and releases. The Clinical Applications Specialist II helps implement third party software and related application modules by assisting with testing, software configuration, and workflows. The Clinical Applications Specialist II assists with the implementation of clinical applications consistent with enterprise standards, assists customers with training and documentation, and assists in the effort to “train the trainers” at new sites. The Clinical Applications Specialist II develops policies and procedures on best practices with the electronic patient record, and clearly communicates these to users and physicians. The Clinical Applications Specialist II works independently and with other members of the clinical application support team for the resolution of user problem tickets and diagnosis of application
The ideal Clinical Application Specialist II will hold a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience combined with a minimum of 3 years of document imaging systems experience. The ideal Clinical Application Specialist II demonstrates proficiency in understanding the application functionality, reporting capability, interfacing and integration associated with clinical applications assigned; has excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills while demonstrated commitment to effective customer service delivery, integrity, and the ability to work productively as a member of a team or work group.
