Position Summary As a Software Engineering Lead, you will attack a multitude of problems by designing, building, and maintaining software and applications. You will help us evolve our next-generation portfolio analytics engine. This is a unique product and one that has a huge impact. Your code and ideas will be deployed to a powerful user-base of CIO's and institutional investment leaders. You will be building tools that allow these users to rapidly explore data, test hypotheses, understand their portfolio's, and leverage the Bridgewater thought processes.

Our developers work across our stack with technologies like React.JS, Node.JS, Scala, Kubernetes, etc.

We Think You'll Click With Us If You:

Technology has always been pervasive in your life
Possess high standards for craftsmanship and strive to write beautiful code
Insist on deeply understanding the problems you are solving and seeing your projects through from start to finish
Are open-minded, appreciate direct feedback, and revel in intellectually rigorous environments

You'll Grow With Us By:

Having whole-problem responsibility - we don't feed engineers features and bugs to fulfill
Working in small teams - we emphasize agile, mission-driven work, not monolithic projects
Collaborating with experts in their fields - we don't have a product for 1 billion casual users, we have products that empower a handful of the world's sharpest and most engaged minds

Responsibilities You'll Spend Your Time:

Understanding business problems
Designing solutions
Writing code and reviewing the code of others
Bringing your ideas to the table about architecture and future product roadmap
Directing traffic around you via strong Scrum management
Constructively challenging the engineering management to ensure we push for excellent software releases

Position Requirements

A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Experience with full-stack development, Scala would be great (desire to learn Scala sounds good too)
Facility with contemporary languages, patterns, and architectures
Demonstrated project ownership, not just participation
The ability to type 120 words per minute ;)
