We are seeking a dynamic, personable relationship-focused Client Account Manager to serve clients from our Phoenix, Arizona office. This is an exciting career opportunity in the consulting engineering business to work with the #1 Engineering Design Firm regionally and globally to work with and grow our top water client accounts. The successful candidate will bring, develop, and maintaining key client relationships primarily in the Phoenix market and developing strategies to winning new and repeat business for AECOM. This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to also be involved in alternative deliver projects using AECOM construction and capital development investment capabilities. Specific job duties include:
Serve as AECOM’s primary point of contact with clients, and continually considering how AECOM can best serve clients.
Understand AECOM’s obligations on current client contracts.
Manage, support and/or lead project teams on the design of water and sanitary sewer conveyance systems; municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities; infrastructure condition assessment and rehabilitation; master planning, and other studies.
Regularly meet with client staff from multiple levels of the client’s organization to obtain feedback on AECOM’s performance and identify opportunities.
Monitor client satisfaction and addresses performance issues.
Prepare Phoenix-area water strategy, Client Account Plan and Capture Plans.
Be the first person involved in the Go-No-Go decision making process in working with regional and national market sector leaders.
Ensure public and private sector clients become a sustainable source of repeat business.
Develop marketing and client capture strategies.
Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers.
Identify upcoming water and wastewater pursuits in the Phoenix municipal water/wastewater market that are consistent with AECOM’s water business line and Phoenix growth strategy.
Lead the proposal development process including Statement of Qualifications, Technical Proposals and Presentations.
Participate actively in professional organizations including AZ Water, AWWA, WEF, APWA, and other water users associations.
Bachelor's degree in Civil or related Engineering discipline with proven water, wastewater or conveyance planning, design, and/or construction experience.
10+ years of experience with at least 5 years of direct project management and/or client management experience.
Ability to obtain Professional Engineering Licensure from the state of AZ within 6 months from start date.
Proven track record with client account management, relationship development, brand elevation, project pursuit execution, and engineering/technical sales.
Experience in the full spectrum of client service, starting with positioning activities, proposal development, and delivery of project designs. The candidates experience can also extend into work with Phoenix area public sector clients working within the utilities and/or public works arena.
Must have knowledge and/or experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance systems, planning studies, condition assessments, and rehabilitation and repair projects.
Exceptional technical skills and experience delivering water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
Desire to serve and lead in a deliberate and focused, yet fast-paced team environment.
Excellent relationships and proven work experience with clients in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The public sector clients include but not limited to the City of Phoenix, Avondale, Tempe, Peoria, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tucson, and other local municipalities.
Familiarity and experience in Project Management and Contract Administration for municipal work is desirable
