Our Claims Manager will work to support the company's objective of minimizing risk! The position analyzes, recommends and implements effective and efficient claims management processes to minimize total cost of risk, support the Company's objectives, minimize risk to people, property and other assets, and preserve earnings and brand equity. Responsibility includes oversight of auto liability litigation, handling general liability claims, and manage vendors including third party claims administration, defense counsel, consultants, and other external parties related to claims processes.

The Opportunity:

The successful Corporate Claims Manager will possess the following abilities and will be responsible for:

  • Develop claims management goals, objectives and strategic plans based on business impact, available resources and budget
  • Effectively collaborate with additional claims team members
  • Oversee claims management internal and external activities, including but not limited to claim processing and assessment, settlement evaluation and negotiation, vendor management, and other functional responsibilities
  • Recommend metrics, programs and processes to effectively manage continuous improvement of post-loss claims management
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships and measure performance of third party service providers
  • Support development, analysis, management of the casualty reserve, working with external vendors and internal teams
  • Act as liaison with internal field operations management to:
  • Report on claim trends
  • Review and consult regarding claim reserve levels
  • Provide training for field operations regarding the claims process

Education

Required

Bachelors or better in Risk Management and Insurance or related field.

Experience

Required

Experience working with and ability to negotiate terms of third party service agreements with TPA, Carriers, and other Service Providers

Advanced working knowledge of Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) systems and reporting

Experienced in claim negotiations and settlement practices

Ability to analyze data and formulate action plans

Advanced working knowledge of both Auto and General Liability coverage lines, with experience in litigation management

7-10 years: Multi-lines claims management with multi-jurisdictional experience in a corporate risk management department, insurance broker or insurer
