We seek motivated individuals to join our Legal Department. The successful candidates will support the legal team in drafting pleadings, contracts (NDAs, Contractor, Vendor, Employment Agreements), onboarding new clients, legal research, and general legal assistance. Responsibilities include assisting with litigation, drafting and formatting legal documents, conducting legal research, and more. Ideal candidates should be detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong communication skills, able to work independently and in a team.
Shift Structure - Remote position, M-F, 40-50 hours/week
- Preferred hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities - Draft Legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and correspondence and prosecute cases
- Provide legal advice on marketing, business development, compliance, employment regulations, and other concerns
- Draft discovery documents, legal research, and writing
- Collaborate with Compliance, Recruiting, HR, Finance, Business Development, and Legal departments
- Utilize e-discovery tools and online platforms (Monday.com, Slack, Google Suite, Excel, MS Office, Github)
- Work independently and meet deadlines
- Minimal travel for litigation, training, and investigations
- Represent the company and clients in hearings, mediations, and negotiations
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures
- Stay updated on healthcare laws and regulations
Physical Requirements- Lift or move up to 20 lbs
- Prolonged periods using computer and typing
- Reliable transportation for external filings or mailings
Requirements and Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of legal practice post-Bar admission in litigation, healthcare, negligence/liability/insurance defense, contracts, employee relations, or business transactions
- Employment law and/or healthcare experience
- Experience with insurance providers and claims process preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Federal Employment standards, Anti-Kickback laws
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Timely, punctual regular attendance required
- May require extended hours for urgent issues or to meet established deadlines
- JD required, Bar license required (Licensed in MI)
- Proficiency in using Monday.com, Slack, Google Suite, MS Office
