Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is recruiting to fill a Civil Engineer Transportation Advanced position within the Bureau of Project Development (BPD). This position can be headquarterd in one of the following DTSD offices: Eau Claire, Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, LaCrosse, Rhinelander, Superior, Waukesha, or Wisconsin Rapids office.

Position Summary

This position functions as a Civil Engineer within the Bureau of Project Development (BPD) Alternative Contracting and Local Program Section as a member of the statewide Local program team perming the highest degree of independent discretion and judgement involving the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures for delivery of the statewide Local Program. A major goal is to support the various engineering and administrative activities involved in the many phases of Local Program development by maintaining and/or developing various guidance materials utilized in the delivery of Local Program projects and developing, updating, and providing training to department teams and/or external stakeholders. This position serves as a resource and advisor to the Statewide Bureaus, regional Local Program Management, and Division of Transportation Investment Management (DTIM) Local Transportation Programs and Finance Section .

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $90,064 - $108,950, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Occasional statewide travel with overnight stays at remote locations may be required.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. For permanent positions that allow remote work flexibility, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have the following at the time of application:
  • A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state
