The Network Engineer will support test campaigns in support of the CWMD, DHS. DHS networks will be analyzed for performance and recommendations made for performance improvement. The tests will be conducted at various locations throughout the United States and its possessions. Responsibilities include planning network tests based upon requirements from other CWMD departments. Conducting tests that will include technical inspection and physical testing of DHS networks and recording results. Analysis of test results and developing formal test reports. When not involved in actual testing, work will be performed at the Engility 80 M Street facility located in Washington DC. The position will entail up to 25% travel.
The ability to obtain DHS Suitability
An Associate’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 6 to 8 years relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 8 years’ experience
Network Certification of one of the following: Network+, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE-ENT
Ability to use Microsoft Office
Demonstrated ability to work independently with little guidance
Demonstrated ability to interface with other technical personnel in diverse organizations
Demonstrated hands on technical ability to measure network performance of small and medium size networks.
