Cimarron is seeking junior and senior-level Civil Engineers to support the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) project at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The ML2 will be used, like the first mobile launcher, as the platform for assembling and testing the Space Launch System (SLS) in the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center, transporting the rocket to Launch Complex 39B, and supporting the vehicle’s launch. The platform includes various interfaces for fueling the rocket, providing power and data, and a crew access arm.
These positions are expected to last 6 to 9 months with the possibility of extension. This is a full-time/benefited (i.e. insurance, PTO, 401(k), etc.) opportunity with Cimarron.
Originate and check structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
Review and coordinate technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.
Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.
Participate in technical meetings and perform intra-discipline coordination.
Assist in constructability reviews.
Additional Duties for Senior-level:
Support construction by dispositioning field change requests and nonconformance reports.
Act as a mentor or coach for subordinate engineers and designers.
Schedule and coordinate off-project review requirements for engineering deliverables.
Lead and/or participate in technical discussions with clients, supplies, construction, etc.

1 or more years of related work experience.
Experience with designing steel and concrete structures.
E.I.T. in Civil Engineering or related engineering registration.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited course of study.
Additional Required Skills, Experience, and Education for Senior-level:
6 or more years of related work experience.
P.E. in Civil Engineering or related engineering registration.
Knowledge of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, and ASCE 7.
Proficiency in the use of structural analysis software (e.g., GTSTRUDL or SAP 2000).
Experience with CAD applications (e.g., AutoCAD).
Experience with the MS Office suite.
Knowledge of engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, material requisitions, and construction methods for concrete and steel structures.
Experience in civil/structural design in the industrial, nuclear, nuclear waste, and/or defense industries.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Proficiency in the use of Mathcad or similar software.
Knowledge of the ACI 349, AISC N690, ASCE 4, ASCE 7, and IBC codes.
Prior Bechtel and/or Department of Defense/Department of Energy experience.
