This position is responsible for soliciting, and contracting for Miami the Corporate Travel, Luxury Lifestyle and consortia accounts originating out of the Domestic US, Latin Americas, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean...for all Miami Hotels. Said position will be encouraged collaborate with the teams in the other Miami hotels and IHG Key Account Directors by utilizing their creative influence to build robust customer events and programs of work that will grow our revenue and further endear the Corporate Travel account manager and end user to our Miami Hotels.

Scope:

Incumbents in this position have successfully demonstrated selling skills and competencies that are at a minimum above industry average and have been representing the Luxury or Boutique Hotel Segment. Skill sets and Competencies include but not limited to; Corporate travel contract negations, FHR, pre existing relationships with Luxury Lifestyle accounts, Knowledge in operating and identifying data points that come from systems such as: Synexis, Ariba, Lanyon, Travel Click Agency 360 & Hotelligence to name a few. They have engaged in and are accomplished at selling skill sets via a structured Sales training program the likes of: Master Connections, Strategic account Mgt, Organizational Skills, Knowledge of Customer needs, Sales practices -- Tech Savvy -- space mgt- business analysis, Goal Achievement, Product Knowledge, Professionalism, Communication (written and Verbal) Attitude, Energy, Ownership and initiative.

Objectives / Accountability:

  • Develop and recommend prospective Corporate Travel, Consortia and Luxury Lifestyle accounts, from free market information such as Hotelligence reports as well as purchased lead sources, analysis of statistical information
  • Participate in the conducting of customer interviews and preparing call analysis reports
  • Prepare, complete and execute, action plans directed at local and National Corporate Business Travel accounts, Consortia accounts, and Luxury Lifestyle Accounts.
  • Within established parameters Prepare, construct, present creative customer proposals, and negotiate contracts on the Miami Hotels behalf
  • Upon closing, coordinate and follow up with the other Hotel depts. to ensure delivery of superior guest service such as in the case of Luxury Lifestyle programs
  • Prepare reports as needed and required by Kimpton Hotels
  • Book business into each hotel at the agreed upon goal
  • Present creative customer focused proposals
  • Create and enforce the site inspection process, that delivers an exciting and memorable visit that is also comprehensive and understanding to the customers needs
  • As directed, participate in trade shows, conventions, and promotional events within the hotel, industry, and customer organizations.
  • May be called upon to Entertain clients
  • Entertain is defined as but not limited to: taking clients to breakfast, lunch or dinner, meet for drinks, go off property to Destination attractions
  • Provide dept colleagues with proper communication that will enhance our ability to deliver exceptional service
  • Site inspections can occur anytime during a 7 day a week period. This person must be able to carry a flexible work schedule
  • Position will be eligible to receive sales incentive compensation based on attainment of predetermined goals
  • Self starter with internal drive to excel in performance
  • Possess good typing and computer literacy skills
  • Conduct outside sales calls to deliver new business and maintain existing business relationships

Other:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Kimpton Hotels from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort.

Upon employment, all employees are required to comply with Kimpton Hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the resort facilities. Employees who violate resort rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

Preferred Knowledge/ Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Hotel Administration, Business, or minimum 2 years as a Sales Manager in an equivalent hotel/ resort.

Knowledge: Excellent command of the English language both writing and verbal communication skills, Computer Literacy and working knowledge of related Software, Administrative software knowledge such as Power point, Excel, Word, Microsoft Office etc...
