Dayton Children's is recruiting for child psychiatrists to provide both inpatient and outpatient care to pediatric patients requiring psychiatric assessments and interventions.
In July of 2019, Dayton Children's will open a 24-bed inpatient unit for youth 11 to 17 years of age. The psychiatrist will conduct initial assessments, and participate in the treatment planning for these patients, including daily rounding on assigned patients, consultation with other members of the treatment team, and therapeutic interventions with patients and families. Physicians will share call responsibilities.
Outpatient responsibilities include assessments and treatment of pediatric patients, staffing a transition clinic for discharged inpatients, and involvement in am interdisciplinary consultation team providing care to patients admitted for medical care who also need behavioral health interventions. Outpatient facilities include the main campus, the Center for Community Health and Advocacy, and the Springboro Behavioral Health Center.
Applicants need to be board certified or board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and taking the needed actions to become board certified. They also need to have a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Ohio.
