Covenant Health in partnership with Alberta Health Services and Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta, invites applications for a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to be based primarily at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

The successful applicants will be expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.
The successful candidate will join another child psychiatrist in the Child Health Clinic in seeing outpatient referrals from community physicians for psychiatric consults at the modern and custom-designed clinic space at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital. The successful candidate will also have responsibilities for supporting the mental health needs of patients in the Pediatrics for Kids in Care (PKIC) program, working with a multidisciplinary team at the same site.
Required:
• MD or equivalent.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
• Specialist qualification, FRCPC in Psychiatry or equivalent. (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada).
• At least 2 years of clinical experience.
• A thorough understanding of the mental health needs of children who experience physician and emotional trauma is essential.
• Necessary interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with academic and community colleagues.
• Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety.
• Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in the healthcare environment.
• Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.
Preferred:
• Working knowledge of Family and Child Services.
• Familiarity with Connect Care.
