CHIEF SALES OFFICER

The Chief Sales Officer (C.S.O.) is responsible for the successful leadership, and overall sales performance in Illinois and Indiana. Driving long-term sales success while delivering on current expectations to achieve and exceed company revenue and net profit goals.

The Chief Sales Officer is charged with ensuring sustainable revenue growth by constantly maximizing profitable market penetration.

The Chief Sales Officer must be a team builder and a team player; maintaining professional relationships with customers, suppliers, other team members and managers.

The Chief Sales Officer is responsible for establishing and/or maintaining policies and procedures to ensure the companies' compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations.

What we're looking for in a CHIEF SALES OFFICER

We are looking for the right person to manage approximately eighteen retail – wholesale showrooms and distribution facilities in Illinois and Indiana by managing four Territory Managers.

We sell brick, stone, landscaping hardscape, and other building supplies to contractors, masons, landscapers, builders and homeowners.

We are looking for someone with a background in strong leadership – for example, as a regional director or sales manager for a group of stores like Home Depot, Lowes, 84 Lumber, ABC Supply, Builder FirstSource, Allied Building Products, BMC Stock Holdings, or Beacon Roofing Supply

This position includes 50% overnight travel.

The CHIEF SALES OFFICER duties and responsibilities are:

  • Provide leadership to four Territories with eighteen storesfocused on growing the management team, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior to achieve operational and financial goals
  • Create and execute Illinois and Indiana sales strategies to meet all requirements while achieving Southfield Corporation's revenue and profit goals
  • Achieve the Illinois and Indiana sales, financial and operational goals each month.
  • Conduct a monthly variance review (by Store and Territory) with the Territory Manager. Making sure they have prepared an action plan when needed to achieve required results
  • Create, understand and maintain measurements and KPIs across the Region for the purpose of forecasting and monitoring sales performance and profit results
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills, able to manage through others to accomplish necessary tasks within targets and deadlines
  • Be a team builder and a team player; maintaining professional relationships with managers, employees, customers and vendors

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum ten years of experience of MULTI-UNIT sales management for a building industry company of $100 million or equivalent preferred.
  • Member of one or more national professional organizations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with NetSuite CRM or equivalent a plus
