Top Must Haves for the Ideal Candidate:

1. 10+ years' industrial steel project management experience.

2. Degree in construction management or engineering (civil preferred).

3. Proven, quantifiable experience managing multiple projects and corresponding teams.

Primary Objective & Reporting Relationship:

The role of the Chief Project Manager is to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated major projects to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

The Chief Project Manager will be the anchor for the department and will report directly to the company's Director of Construction.

Responsibilities: 

? Responsible for future sales (in conjunction with sales and estimating departments) through building and maintaining relationships with clients, project managers, job superintendents, engineers, architects and vendors. 

? Ensure that all knowledge of a project including but not limited to safety, scope, proposal, special instructions, and overall method of construction as interpreted by the estimator is transferred to the relevant project manager accurately and in a timely manner. 

? Ensure that all subcontracts are made and written with proper documentation in a manner that meets the needs of the company and its clients. 

? Act as a liaison between detailers, architects and engineers and document any communication that affects schedule, price, changes or special agreements or RFI's. 

? Expedite all change orders through the necessary departments (structural, misc.), submit to client immediately, and document according to internal procedures. 

? Required to travel to project sites for weekly/bi weekly job meetings and coordinate with customers and other trades affecting our scope. 

? Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies. 

? Projects managed are complex and may require additional attention to detail, i.e. renovations, schools, complex commercial buildings, industrial w/large coordination w/other trades, etc. (Misc ? large quality of scope, long duration on schedule, bright metals, special coatings, special buyouts, complex stairs, field measurements, coordination between structural/misc, etc.) 

? Serve as project management subject matter expert and participate on special projects or project teams.  

? Assist Director of Construction in developing procedures.  

Compensation:

A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary, along with performance-based bonus.

$130K - $170K
