The Chief Operating Officer will be an individual contributor who?s focused on providing overall leadership and management to our organization?s ongoing operations and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for business efficiency and functionality.

Primary Responsibilities

?        Guide the organization to surpass sales and profitability, cash flow and business objectives

?        Collaborate with leadership to create and enact plans for the operational infrastructure of company systems, processes and teams designed to accommodate Petplan?s rapid growth initiatives

?        Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies

?        Establish policies and protocol that promote the company mission and vision

?        Measure and evaluate internal and external processes, providing timely and accurate reports on operating condition

?        Set priorities to guide investments in people and systems for organizational success

?        Present ideas and strategies to board of director and additional company officers

Required Skills

?        Bachelor?s degree in Business or related field; MBA or Master?s degreepreferred

?        10+ years of relevant experience in COO or similar role; insurance industry experiencepreferred

?        Understanding of all business functions including IT, Marketing, Finance, HR, Service, Business Development and Claims

?        Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and business development

?        Outstanding leadership, decision making and problem solving skills

?        Superior business acumen and communication proficiency

?        Ability to apply initiative and judgment to define and perform tasks, sometimes complex, and sees the bigger picture

?        Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

?        Excellent team player; proven ability to apply innovative ideas and critical thinking

?        Able to anticipate needs, innovate and flourish in a high volume, fast paced environment
