Verisk Analytics is searching for a HR Strategic Program Lead and Chief of Staff to our CHRO. In this newly created position, this person will work to drive strategic positioning of the global HR department, facilitate organization and talent strategies, help deliver business results and drive effective team and business operations. About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

Drive Strategic Positioning

  1. Assist the CHRO and HRBPs with delivering objectives and responsibilities as a Leadership team member
  2. Help the practice to create growth strategies and help leadership to execute them
  3. Has latitude in decision-making and determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments
  4. Strengthen the position within core business, strategy and growth markets
  5. Synchronize HR towards strategies to achieve goals
  6. Take up all the operational challenges and prepare mitigation plans well in advance to safeguard interests

 

Facilitate Organization and Talent Strategies

  1. Strengthen function by ensuring clear definition of team and plans, supporting ongoing operations, and monitoring progress vs plan
  2. Grow capabilities and Innovation: Help define and execute capability strategy across HR and ensure that resource plans and investments (skills building/asset development) are aligned to this strategy.  Support integration of HR Leadership team and strengthening of organization model in advancing the positioning of HR team capabilities
  3. Support Talent Strategy - Help ensure HR activities support and align with career architecture and talent strategies; facilitate business support for key talent initiatives, including performance management, career management, employee engagement and communication, and achievement of diversity objectives and targets 

 

Deliver business results

  1. Pro-actively identify issues and risks in achieving business results.  Suggest actions and manage critical interventions involving others as needed and working across dimensions (locations, offerings, industry/function). 
  2. Monitor and ensure appropriate use of investment and budgets

 

Drive effective Business and Team Operations 

  1. Contribute actively as a member of the HR leadership team to strengthen team impact, improve our processes and tools, share best practices, and support others on the team.  Drive collaboration and close teaming across the business, HR, Operations, IT and Finance.
  2. Grow relationship, personal brand, and skillset toward ‘trusted advisor’ positioning with business leaders and recognition within the global practice/node.
  3. Help manage the CHRO email traffic and any other requests - forwarding to relevant people for action or sometimes creating draft responses for the CHRO
  4. Work with the CHRO communications team to prepare messaging, including help prepare the CHRO for meetings with clients or internal and external speaking events
  5. Works with CHRO EA to help prioritize the various requests for her time
  6. Help CHRO be organized and prepared for various meetings and engagements
  7. Act as a representative for CHRO in various settings and dealings with other parts of the firm
  8. Have a flexible approach and will be willing to perform varying duties depending on the shifting needs of the company
  9. Provide training and coaching to other employees

About You:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experiencerequired with a background in complex corporate environments
  • Minimum of 8 years of proven track record of success interacting with senior/executive level management
  • Experience working in HR department
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity to achieve results and effectively resolve conflicts as they arise
  • Highly flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure and quickly changing priorities
  • Excellent project management, analytical and communication skills
  • Absolute personal integrity, trustworthiness, discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to influence without direct authority to drive action at all levels
