The Office of the CIO (OCIO) enables global PayPal employees to be productive, innovative, and nimble. The scope of the OCIO includes Global Operations Technology; Corporate Network and Infrastructure; End User Services and Desktop Support; Productivity, Collaboration and Enterprise Applications.

As the Chief of Staff to the CIO, you will drive key operations, OCIO strategy, KPIs/OKRs, and internal team rhythms. Partnering closely with the CIO and his senior leadership team, you will support both strategic organizational alignment and operational projects and process improvements to enable the leadership team to execute on their strategic goals. This role reports directly to the Head of Employee Technology Solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evolve team operating model to ensure effective internal rhythms and optimize cadences to enable better communications and engagement up down and across functions & teams; drive agendas and prep for internal team rhythms and management/executive reviews. 

  • Stay up-to-date with trends in IT, synthesize research into executive summaries with key business and communication insights. 

  • Partner with CIO and senior OCIO leadership to define and drive 3-year strategic vision; help develop materials and storylines to market key OCIO initiatives to internal stakeholders

  • Manage CIO media, PR, and external speaking opportunities with IT media outlets, networking opportunities, and conference attendance. 

  • Coordinate CIO site-specific engagement with employees; set meetings with executive leadership and top talent, plan fireside chats, and social events. 

  • Coordinate agendas for All Hands meetings, leadership offsite meetings, staff meetings, and other events. Follow-up on action items as required. 

  • Partner with OCIO leadership to ensure the team’s time is used effectively and efficiently to drive organization forward. 

  • Partner closely with the CIO’s executive admin to ensure the alignment of the CIO’s calendar and obligations between meetings, travel, networking, etc.

Skills & Experience:

  • Meet commitments and solve hard problems with transparency, discipline, and high quality. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels. Ability to influence and work through others. 

  • Foster and build collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders within the OCIO and outside of the OCIO. Success depends on building rapport and credibility with multiple stakeholders across the organization.? 

  • Proven analytical skills and ability to define and clearly articulate success metrics and data-driven measurements. 

  • Excellent powerpoint, written and verbal communication skills

  • Can think of new ideas, be a visionary; see multiple possibilities, has broad interests and knowledge; can both create and bring exciting ideas to the organization; comfortable speculating about alternative futures without all of the data. 

  • Working knowledge of IT strategic planning and financial management; understanding of IT governance and change management a plus. 

  • Proven track record of successful team leadership  

  • Good working knowledge of vendor management or procurement preferred 

  • 10 years of professional experience in a fast-paced, dynamic global company.
