Miami-Dade Corrections Health Services (CHS) operates under Jackson Health System (JHS) and serves approximately 5,000 patients daily. Patient care is delivered by nearly 400 healthcare employees representing a diverse multidisciplinary team of nurses & nurse support staff, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers and other professionals. CHS supports Miami Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation at 3 facilities in Miami-Dade County and leverages the resources of a large public safety net health system in the areas of education, quality, risk management & compliance
We are looking for an experienced Psychiatrist with demonstrated experience in the administration of BH staff to drive positive outcomes in a patient-centric correctional healthcare environment. The incumbent will be responsible for the management of behavioral health services with oversight for the patient care needs of approximately 1500 on the behavioral health caseload. Serves as a liaison between the medical/clinical staff, Miami Dade Corrections and Rehab (MDCR) and Jackson Health System (JHS) leadership. Assists, implements and achieves the Behavioral Health goals and objectives for the clinics/center of responsibility. Ensures that all Behavioral Health services meet or exceed standards required by the Federal Department of Justice and State of Florida Licensure requirements and are aligned with NCCHC national standards. This role will work collaboratively on a daily basis with the CHS CMO and leadership and is approximately 60% clinical/patient care and 40% administrative.
