We have a position open for a Chief of Operations located in Warner Robins, GA.

The Chief of Operations will bring a proven track record in successfully leading business operations which focuses on DoD contract execution and customer satisfaction. Will provide attention to details but also has the ability to think beyond the 'transactional' and provide 'big picture'/strategic thinking. Will bring a blend of management, strategic thinking, and customer relations. Chief of Operations will report to the President. Will set the tone for program execution across the organization and will also lead project and program managers. Will grow senior leadership, managerial, and business skills while building a high-achieving, fast-paced team. Will be expected to have experience leading technical teams and achieving outstanding results.

Will provide leadership, oversight and senior level management to overall contract operations, often involving multiple projects/tasks and/or groups of personnel at multiple locations. Will be responsible for developing and maintaining key strategic relationships with senior level management within the client organization and is aware of overall program status. Will coordinate and facilitate the timely submission of financial, performance, and status reports (CDRLs) along with otherreports required by the client. Will be expected to be well-organized, have attention to details, skilled in setting priorities, meeting deadlines and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Will be expected to have outstanding written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and advanced project management skills. Will work independently and in teams, be proactive in anticipating work requirements and problem solving.

Responsibilities:

Senior Management Role/Strategic Management Guidance

  • Participate as a core member of the senior management team to foster a customer- oriented culture across the organization
  • Achieve customer satisfaction targets by planning for, identifying and taking active steps to ensure high CPAR ratings across the portfolio
  • Communicate company goals, vision and culture across all project teams and through subordinate leaders
  • Participate in APC's corporate initiatives that contribute to its organizational strategic thinking or cutting-edge ideas that improve APC's work and competitiveness
  • Work with senior management team to coordinate and collaborate so that customer satisfaction is integrated in the fabric and everyday functions at APC

Management and Execution of Contract Portfolio

  • Improve contract execution by developing the strategies, processes, standards and workflows for the Operations team
  • Oversee team of program managers ensuring compliance to company policies while providing mentorship and guidance less experienced team members
  • Supervise subordinate staff
  • Manage the output flow of deliverables from the project teams, ensuring a high degree of quality and timeliness of all required CDRLs
  • Review work product of subordinate program/project managers to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
  • Collaborates with all Corporate functions to fulfill contract requirements and maintain sound risk management practices
  • Report regularly to the management team on performance and goals (e.g., burn rate, CPAR ratings, ETC, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate information in relevant databases, including those on corporate capabilities, skills and knowledge areas
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic files

Marketing Activities

  • Prepare and present formal presentations to prospective clients based on their needs
  • Provide well considered and persuasive technical inputs for company proposals
  • Develop technical white papers that document possible solutions to customers
  • Attend customer facing events and expand the professional and corporate network of clients, teammates and vendors
  • Participate in customer meetings and identify business opportunities for the business
  • Collaborate effectively with inputs to the APC's business development team

Teaming/interfacing with potential partners/subcontractors

  • Represent the company to current and future, clients and partners, lead discussions on specific bids
  • Lead efforts to build partnerships and subcontractor relationships and support proposal managers to negotiate partnership arrangements and budget
  • Coordinate teaming agreements, statements of work, subcontracts, and other institutional agreements with partners

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelordegree (from an accredited program) in a relevant field and 15years experienceOR Master degree (from an accredited program) in a relevant field and 13years experience
  • Proposal Management and Business Development in DOD Contract experience
  • Experience managing and developing subordinate managers and technical staff
  • Experience leading and supporting new business efforts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
