The IDEXX Chief Medical Officer oversees the development of IDEXX veterinary medical thought leadership and evidence-based clinical insights to advance standards of veterinary care globally and influences the profession in the advancement of medical standards that arise from IDEXX innovation, thereby enhancing the health and well-being of pets around the world.

The Chief Medical Officer provides direct leadership of the IDEXX Medical Organization, a highly skilled team of IDEXX veterinarians and professionals focused on supporting the development and introduction of new innovations in diagnostics, medical outreach and partnerships with universities and professional organizations, and biostatistical analysis of veterinary medical Big Data to generate clinical insights and support clinical research. The Chief Medical Officer sets the strategic vision of the IDEXX Medical Organization globally, creating opportunities for continued development and growth of this dynamic team of professionals at IDEXX.

The IDEXX Medical Organization partners with leaders across IDEXX, collaborates with our customers, Key Opinion Leaders and works alongside industry associations to support the veterinary profession. This includes partnering with IDEXX Research & Development to provide innovative diagnostic tests, working with medical Big Data to develop evidence-based clinical insights, speaking and delivering continuing education, and designing practical tools to advance and expand veterinary care for the benefit of pets, veterinary practices and pet owners.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides veterinary medical thought leadership globally
  • Develops evidence-based clinical insights from Big Data and Clinical Studies
  • Partners with IDEXX leaders at the highest levels of IDEXX management
  • Collaborates with customers, Key Opinion Leaders, industry associations and educational institutions and works to influence advances in veterinary medicine that result from IDEXX innovation
  • Works with IDEXX Research & Development to prioritize IDEXX’s significant annual investment in diagnostic innovation
  • Partners with IDEXX marketing, training and education teams to design practical tools and continuing education to support veterinary practices
  • Provides continuing education through partnerships with universities, conferences, publications, and other professional organizations
  • Speaks at IDEXX, customer, industry and continuing education events
  • Leads a team of highly talented veterinarians and professionals, providing individual development, identifying additional talent, and cultivating leadership skills in a growing and dynamic team
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • DVMdegree or country equivalent
  • Board certification(s) strongly preferred
  • Advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Advanced training strongly preferred

EXPERIENCE:

10-15+ years relevant experience, with a mix of the following required skills and abilities.
