The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a process oriented technologist who provides expertise for the ongoing definition of HUB's hybrid cloud technology infrastructure, integration of technology from acquired businesses and service management operations. The CIO oversees and continuously improves the operational effectiveness of the IT Operations and M&A Integration Teams, ensuring each team is appropriately staffed with the requiredcompetencies and fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead a consolidated IT team responsible for delivering services to a federated organization of forecasted to grow to 20,000 employees across 500-700 locations in two countries

  • Enhances a metrics-based IT operations capability, with a focus on service orientation and continuous improvement, to develop and drive SLA and OLA achievement

  • Manage the costs and the demand and resource capacity for the team resources, leveraging external resources as needed to handle spikes in demand

  • Prioritize the portfolio of IT projects to ensure delivery of the highest value to organization

  • Lead the IT Governance Process to drive customer satisfaction and achieve financial targets

  • Approve purchases of services, equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers

  • Source solution providers and negotiate major contracts, including network, applications, and platforms

  • Attract and develop a highly skilled team, including participating in team member on-boarding and development

  • Demonstrate Operations and Technology Leadership Behaviors (one team, build trust, customer driven, future focused, innovate daily, and be curious) in all actions and ways of working, and coach their organization on the behaviors

Technology Thought Leadership

  • Assess current and anticipated business technology needs ranging from application solutions toinfrastructure scalability/reliability making critical decisions regarding hiring personnel and implementing solutions that will allow the company to grow and thrive

  • Build solutions that meet the future needs of Hub's fast-growing organization and are based on the voice of the customer and industry best practices

  • Create the 2-3 year technology strategy in concert with the enterprise value creation plan. Drive implementation of technology roadmaps, adjusting as required to support business needs

  • Maintain current knowledge on new technology trends and best practices related to the desktop experience (VDI, DaaS, etc), determining the appropriate application at Hub, deploying necessary refreshes, and driving continuous improvements

  • Design and implement a disaster recovery strategy that meets Hub's business requirements

  • Deliver technology solutions on time, within budget, and that routinely exceed the business process expectations and the financial return on investment targets of the business users.

  • Maintain a broad understanding of business and technology architectures, with the ability to translate that into applications, infrastructure, integration, digital, and data services and operational improvements

  • Review results of pre and post implementation project review to ensure value is achieved and best practices are shared across function

  • Work with the CTO as needed to research, identify, compare, select, and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs

IT Service:

  • Understand and can apply risk/reward/cost/quality aspects of a 99.9% uptime vs 99.99% technology footprint

  • Ensure adherence by the IT Desktop Support Team to procedures and processes, monitoring performance against SLAs and OLAs, identifying any performance risks and issues, and deploying corrective action toresolve issues

  • Make certain that the CIRT (Critical Incident Response Team) Process and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) Processes apply systems thinking to resolve issues, prevent reoccurrences, and improve overall internaland external customer experience

  • Responsible for all disaster recovery testing

  • Drive technical development and enhancement of customer support systems and Desktop functionality

  • Instill repeatable, high-quality Service Introduction and Product Support Processes that consistently meet SLAs and OLAs

  • Ensure the management and optimization of infrastructure assets to remain current and satisfy the customer service and internal financial targets

  • Provide executive oversight for the outsourcing vendor relationships ensuring best in class service and pricing

  • Drive the creation of the overall technology infrastructure and support standards and practices and ensure adherence to established SLAs and OLAs

  • Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance

Application Services:

  • Support the ongoing run operations of the application portfolio

  • Support a microservices application architecture

  • Oversee the on-going Application Inventory Management Process and work with Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to rationalize the inventory that aligns with desired cost models

M&A Integration

  • Instill repeatable, high-quality M&A Integration Processes that consistently meet SLAs and OLAs

  • Maintain the integrity of enterprise platform, adjusting as necessary to meet any specialized, business needs of specific acquisitions

  • Ensure the retirement of applications, and associated application support, following the established integration plan

  • Oversee the due diligence and integration of technologies through mergers and acquisitions

  • Well-grounded in technology and has a solid understanding of how the entire IT function operates, specific experience includes:

  • Leading an infrastructure modernization

  • Implementing major ERP / business critical solutions, custom development and package software, data analytics, digital technology, and cloud computing

  • Overseeing delivering digital technology solutions

  • Using a microservices architecture application development approach

  • Leading an IT operations service in a blended virtual desktop/DaaS footprint

  • Architecting small pilot solutions and possess the ability to scale, as needed

  • Performing technical due diligence and integration of technology from M&A deals

  • Managing major data movement (e.g., ETL tools) and maintenance/improvement of the company's data lake

  • Managing a complex desktop environment to established SLAs and OLAs

  • Interacting with a PE/VC organization

  • Heavy cloud, infrastructure and networking background required

  • IT Service Management experience required

  • M&A acquisition integration experience preferred

  • Outsourcing experience with service providers required

  • Process background, with Six Sigma certification a plus (i.e., Lean, GB, DFSS, BB, MBB)

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field; ideally an M.B.A. or advanced technical degree

  • Minimum 15 years of information technology experience in roles of increasing complexity and leadership requirements

  • At least 3+ years' experience in a CIO role

  • Experience working in multiple countries

  • Willingness to travel, US & Canada
