Develops, reviews and revises company policies, procedures and practices related to personnel matters. Communicates changes in policies and procedures and ensures compliance.
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance.
Maintains responsibility for compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to personnel matters.
Maintains a human resource system that meets company needs.
Supervises staff in the human resources department.
Participates in developing department and company goals and objectives as well as budget and financial planning. Manages the budget and other financial measures of the Human Resources department. Continues to improve the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the company.
Develops staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs.
Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviews.
Represents the company for unemployment claims.
Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
Works directly with department managers to assist in carrying out responsibilities related to human resources matters.
Coordinates the company education program.
Implements and administers comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost effective. Serves as the benefits and COBRA administrator for the company.
Manages new employee orientation to ensure employees gain an understanding of key company information.
Develops human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develops specific programs for filling of the gaps.
Performs recruitment activities, interviews and evaluates candidates for select positions. Assists management staff in selection, interviewing and hiring procedures.
Administers the Workers' Compensation program.
Provides overall leadership and guidance by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, recruitment and retention, training and leadership development, compensation and benefits.
Provides vision, leadership, planning and project coordination and management for the development of a cost-effective department while facilitating efficient operations to meet current and future business needs.
Ensures continuity and successful delivery of functional services to users throughout the organization.
Analyzes and directs all function-related activities within the scope of the human resource management system.
Fosters and maintains positive relationships with HR constituents and customer base, serves as an interface between internal/external customers and functional team members to ensure effective definition of and delivery of human resource applications and provides overall prioritization of work assignments and management of functional team resources and activities.
Promotes proactive approaches to solve business needs/problems.
Minimum Requirements: (Educational and job experience requirements. Knowledge, skills, abilities)
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field required
Human Resources certifications preferred
1-2 years Human Resources experience required
3-4 years management experience preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office software required
Expertise in negotiation, coaching and interpersonal skills
