We have been retained by a leading private equity firm to identify the right CFO for one of their portfolio companies. The company is a middle market light manufacturing company that is well positioned for aggressive growth, operational improvement, and value creation. This business is an established leader in its space. Our private equity client partners with management to drive continued growth and value by creating a Board of Directors, strengthening the leadership team, sharpening strategy and execution, and delivering organic and acquisitive growth.


Requirements include:

  • 15+ years of progressive financial management experience including strong operational experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a multi-channel and international distribution environment is preferred.
  • The ability to assess operational and financialtechnology and systems needs and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems and infrastructure, including developing financialreporting and internal controls in an organic and acquisitive growth environment
  • Proven success as a strategic and proactive financial advisor to the CEO.
  • Intellectual curiosity.
  • A strong interpersonal skill set.
  • An undergraduatedegree in business, finance or accounting; a CPA or MBA preferred.


Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will flex from high level involvement including Board involvement to hands-on operational activities such as day-to-day accounting matters, financial modeling, forecasting, project profitability analysis, et cetera. The ideal executive will have an operational orientation and will lead in an entrepreneurial, resourceful manner, consistently delivering targeted results with lean resources and an eye toward optimizing the eventual sale value of the business to a new investor.


In addition to providing financial leadership, this individual will:

  • Function as a strategic business partner and a problem solver in strategic issues, including expansion to multiple locations.
  • Be directly involved with the daily financial oversight and management of the company.
  • Take charge of the financial and reporting aspects of the company.
  • Focus on cost accounting, controls and operational finance.
  • Manage relationship with banks in a leveraged environment.
  • Help drive the performance, strategic planning and growth orientation of the business.


The CFO will be able to bring an experienced, professional business process and systems mentality into a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and private equity-sponsored environment.
