The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for directing and managing the financial functions of Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a $90M+ behavioral healthcare inpatient, outpatient, community services and substance use disorder treatment organization, providing care to more than 30,000 people in 30+ locations throughout the service area of MaineHealth. As the largest provider of behavioral healthcare services in Maine, MBH is also responsible for leading the MaineHealth Behavioral Health Service Line and managing behavioral healthcare activities of services provided by other divisions of MaineHealth overseen by MBH. The CFO will directly manage the financial functions for MBH along with oversight of the MaineHealth Behavioral Healthcare Service Line and managed behavioral services throughout MaineHealth. These functions include general accounting, budgeting, financial planning, and reimbursement. These areas include the oversight of patient accounts, payroll, cashiering, accounts payable, and purchasing activities. Some of these functions are in coordination with MH System Integrated Services. The CFO serves as a senior leader on the MBH executive leadership team and on the MaineHealth CFO Council.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA or MBApreferred
5+ years of healthcare accounting experience with management responsibility
5+ years experience with community mental healthcare, substance use disorder, FQHC or related community agency services preferred.
