Reporting Structure:

The Chief Financial Officer reports to GetWellNetwork's Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Michael O'Neil. The CFO manages a 15-person finance and corporate services team including a four person Vice-President leadership team who respectively oversee Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Legal and Corporate Development. The CFO is a member of the company's Executive Leadership Team.


The Chief Financial Officer provides GetWellNetwork's CEO, financial sponsors and Board of Directors with direction and management of the company's financial strategy and business planning as well as timely, accurate, and relevant management and financial information. Fundamentally, the CFO maintains accountability for directing the company's economic model and, as such, guides business decisions to optimize growth, profitability and scale. Day-to-day, the CFO leads GetWellNetwork's finance, operations, legal and corporate development/M&A teams. The CFO serves as a strategic partner to the CEO by evaluating and making recommendations on growth opportunities, partnerships and acquisitions within the context of the company's strategic, growth and profit objectives. The CFO also works closely with his/her fellow executive team members to support broader business objectives by providing a proactive and operational approach to planning, budgeting, metrics reporting and by linking financial management with strategic and operational objectives.

GetWellNetwork has set an aggressive three-year plan to build upon its strong sales momentum and strategic position within the healthcare technology marketplace. The CFO will play a central role in achieving these growth plans, specifically in the areas of M&A, supporting complex strategic partnerships and commercial negotiations and serving as the company's representative in the capital markets. As the company grows, the CFO will also help ensure that the firm builds a culture of budgeting, metrics reporting and strong financial management.


The Chief Financial Officer maintains a broad set of responsibilities, encompassing many of the traditional elements of the CFO role including accounting, tax, audit; budgeting, financial analysis, planning and forecasting; treasury and risk management; debt capitalization; mergers and acquisitions; and investor relations. Externally, the CFO works very closely with the firm's private equity sponsor, Pamplona Capital, as well as with the company's lenders. The General Counsel also reports to the CFO and they work closely together on issues such as commercial contracting, M&A and partnerships. The company's dynamic growth also provides an opportunity for someone to stretch and evolve the role based on firm needs and the candidate's specific areas of expertise.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage a high-functioning finance and corporate services team, investing and developing existing talent, upgrading functions with new talent where necessary
  • Lead the M&A function including ensuring a robust pipeline of strategic and accretive acquisition targets prospects, overseeing the diligence, bid process, negotiation, and closing, post-merger integration
  • Provide the firm high-quality and actionable information and financial metrics, including communicating the "story behind the data"
  • Manage the company's capital expenditures budget, with a particular focus on IT and Product Development
  • Oversee the company's Annual Audit including our transition to ASC 606 (revenue recognition)
  • Serve as an effective ambassador and partner to the company's financial sponsor, Pamplona Capital and lenders
  • Manage relationships with the company's debt lenders and their reporting requirements
  • Managing capital raising as necessary including raising debt for rollover at maturity and M&A financing

Experience & Background:

Given GetWellNetwork's size, financial leverage, anticipated growth and fast-paced environment, the organization requires an experienced CFO with a systems focus and a business owner mindset to lead the company to the next level of growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will bring experience working in a private equity leveraged environment and familiarity with working lenders and their reporting requirements. Experience in technology-enabled business services or SAAS-based, subscription-based technology services models would be particularly relevant for this position.. In addition, this individual should possess a strong track-record of M&A experience on the deal side as well as providing leadership over integrations. Finally, the successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to work in an entrepreneurial-type environment without large corporate infrastructure.

Financial Strategy & Capital Markets

  • Ability to evaluate and make strategic recommendations on new revenue growth opportunities, partnerships, acquisitions or capital ventures within the context of the company's strategic and revenue goals
  • Strong deal-making experience and negotiation skills, especially in M&As (ideally with M&A experience in the $50-100M TEV range)
  • Healthcare experience, specifically a good understanding of the healthcare technology and services market, would be a strong plus

Financial Operations

  • At least 12 years of progressive leadership in a financial function
  • Strong internal finance skills and credible knowledge and experience in all core finance functions (e.g., accounting and tax, internal and external controls, budgeting and planning, treasury, financial systems, and management reporting)

Organizational & Business Leadership

  • Track record of developing and investing in a cohesive, high performing team
