Responsibilities:


Chief Engineer-

The individual selected will serve as the Chief Engineer on an IC contract and a senior member of the ProgramManagement Office team in support of the Systems Engineering Directorate.

Reporting directly to the PM, the Chief Engineer will serve as the primary point of contact for technical support on the program . This position requires an understanding of the intelligence community, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of end-to-end mission closure.

The chosen candidate must have extensive knowledge of Electro-Optical (EO), RADAR and SIGINT systems; extensive knowledge of SOA implementations, Communications systems, mission management and mission processing; extensive knowledge of verification and validation across EO, SIGINT, Communication and ground support systems; and software development.

The selected candidate will have the aptitude to assess processes and create efficiencies continuously, and will lead projects for systems team work, have frequent interactions with senior level government officials, and support system and mission strategy development across the various customer offices. The candidate will have daily interaction with the customer and supporting contractors, and will need to follow customer standards and processes as the program matures through the life cycle. The candidate shall also support weekly Division Chief meetings.

Activities supported may include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluation of architecture, requirements, and conops products for System or Enterprise impacts;
  • Definition of VV&T activities and associated VV&T products (e.g., strategies, plans, Requests for Change (RFC), procedures, checklists, RVTMs, briefings, etc.) for new and modified mission and service capabilities;
  • Configuration management and the customer's ERB process, Risk, Issues and Opportunity Management boards, enterprise and system readiness, schedule management, and information and mission assurance of new systems or services in support of expanded mission capabilities.


Qualifications:


Required Skills:

  • More than 12 years' experience with space/ground aerospace systems engineering/architecting
  • BS in engineering, physics or related technical degree
  • Integration and Closure experience within overall customer domain, Tech Insertion experience
  • Experience managing matrixed technical teams
  • Managed project and resource plans
  • Strong business acumen; ability to relate professionally inside the work environment
  • Detailed knowledge of remote sensing systems and overall space and ground architecture
  • Expertise in mission technical capabilities and system performance analysis and assessment
  • Experience with Mission Processing or Mission Control functions in support of space and ground architecture
  • Experience identifying user & enterprise needs/requirements and gap identification, analysis and assessment
  • Experience in supporting Requirements Engineering, Conops development, and system integration to accommodate the End to End Systems Engineering.
  • Commitment to recognize, understand, respect and operate effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority
  • Proven communication skills especially with senior (Lt Colonel and above) government officials
  • Proven adaptability as demonstrated through experience with daily interaction on-site with the government customers
  • Certified in one or more of the following: SAFe, ITIL, PMI/PMP, INCOSE
  • Must have an active TS/SCI with poly to start.
