The person occupying this position will be expected to lead multi-disciplinary teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerodynamics, etc.) to design, develop, design, test, build, field and launch sounding rocket systems for Department of Defense customers. Candidates should have experience with launch mission design, solid rocket motors, flight testing and qualification, launch processing, and familiarity with hazardous operations procedures and processes. Additionally, candidate should have experience leading technical projects with complex teams made up of industry, government, other FFRDCs/UARCs, etc. and briefing complex technical subjects clearly.
Travel to launch ranges across the world, such as Hawaii, Scotland, Kwajalein, Austrlia, Israel, California, Virginia, New Mexico, Florida, and travel to meet with customers (Missile Defense Agency, Navy, Air Force, Army) will be required. With an average of a launch fielding per year of approximately 6-8 weeks long.
