Job Summary: Responsible for technical leadership and oversight of advanced technology development within the Emerging Technology Programs Business Area.  Provides leadership to ensure coordination of product line engineering activities.     Major Responsibilities/Activities Statements:

  • Provides technical leadership in concurrent engineering of advanced product design
  • Leads program chief engineers in the L-3 Mustang Product Development Process from concept to final acceptance tests
  • Works with Business Area Manager, Business Area Chief Engineer, and program leadership in development and execution of product line strategy
  • Strong customer service focus and experienceworking with government customers
  • System design synthesis of complex electronic systems
  • Front-end systems engineering to include analysis, modeling and simulation, and system level performance prediction
  • Radar and RF system synthesis and conceptualization in a design-to-cost environment
  • Radar and RF system performance prediction in benign, cluttered and EA environment
  • Radar and RF system requirements definition, flow down and traceability
  • Radar system trade studies such as waveform, frequency, antenna configuration, phase noise, etc.
  • Supports business development activities to include proposals, RFI responses, ROMs, and white papers
  • Leads  implementation and management of business area technical risks
  • Leads implementation and management of business area and program measures of effectiveness/performance, to include technical performance metrics
  • Oversight of system test including planning, laboratory and field testing
  • Other duties as assigned



Job Requirements: Required Experience: 

  • 10-15 years’ relevant experience in radar and RF system requirements development, analysis, design, integration, verification and test
  • Experience in phased array sensor technologies
  • Experience in technical leadership of technology development programs
  • Experience working in system architecture development

Required Skills:

  • Strong leader with customer focus
  • Strong RF background with a working knowledge of electronic scanned antennas, receivers, exciters and digital signal processing is desired. 
  • Working knowledge of Open System Architectures
  • Working knowledge of digital array radar
  • Ability to derive and decompose radar requirements including dynamic range, phase noise, and sensitivity
  • Knowledge of Integrated Circuit (ICs) technologies and experience specifying performance of custom ICs
  • Understanding of EVMS metrics
  • Design-to-Cost development
  • Excellent organizational & interpersonal skills
  • Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
