The Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer will report to the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors and administratively to the Chief Legal Officer and will be responsible for oversight of the operation and effectiveness of Fairview Health Services’ Compliance and Privacy programs. Fairview Health Services is a complex organization which includes eleven hospitals, more than 100 primary and specialty care clinics, 32,000 employees, academic research, a payer, and a robust pharmacy practice that includes retail, compounding and, 340B programs.
The Chief Compliance Officer provides executive oversight and is responsible for execution of the compliance program for Fairview Health Services and its related entities under the direction of the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board and with guidance and support from the CEO and Senior Executive Team. This includes compliance with all laws and regulations, including Anti-Kickback, Stark, IRS, beneficiary inducement, HIPAA and state privacy laws, human subjects research, the Company’s code of conduct and conflict of interest policies and coding and billing requirements. The Compliance Officer leads the team in the creation of an effective program aligned around the seven elements described in the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. The nature of the work includes building a strong relationship with the Senior Executive Team and other leaders across the system and helping to serve as a knowledge base relative to compliance for the Senior Executive Team, employees, consulting with all levels of employees and management regarding that knowledge base, being a reference source of compliance policies and initiatives, laws, regulations, ethical standards, and conflict of interest policies as applicable, working with and through others in a decentralized environment. The right candidate will be able to lead and optimize a program with both corporate staff and embedded resources with specific skill set and expertise. In addition, advocates for compliant business practices and the development of a strong commitment to ethical decision-making.
Qualified candidates will have ten or more years in a compliance leadership role or related position in a health care system or related industry, an overall knowledge of compliance programs and planning, familiarity with healthcarelaws and regulations, coding and billing requirements, corporate ethical and conflict of interest policies and supporting corporate mechanisms, and a proven record of effective management of personnel and projects.

10 years in healthcare compliance environment
5 years of progressive management responsibility
Healthcare compliance professional certification such as CHC (Certified Healthcare Compliance) or equivalent
