Minimum Requirements:

 

  • B.S. Chemical Engineering minimum; 6+ years of experience out of a PSM regulated plant producing specialty chemicals or petrochemicals as a Process optimization engineer or as a Production Engineer with some design through installation of projects.
  • Pluses include: Batch reaction, distillation, filters, heat exchangers, DCS programming, a knowledge of regulatory practices (PSM, DOT, EPA, etc.).
  • Looking for someone local or someone living out of state with ties to Houston with aspirations to move into Production Management.

 

Job Description:

This person will work in a medium-sized, PSM-regulated chemical manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. The site uses liquid batch and continuous reaction, distillation with some powder conveying for feed additives. This person will have a variety of responsibilities and 50% of the job will revolve around day-to-day support of the plant that, including tracking plant trends, examining DCS charts, reviewing cycle times and process optimization. 10% of the job is maintenance related while another 10% is participating in HAZOP meetings and leading Management of Change procedures. The other 30% of the job will be design through installation of projects with budgets from $10K to $500K. This person will fill in for the Unit Superintendent as needed and will be on a Production Management Track. The parent company has several facilities throughout the U.S. and is a leader in their market. Relocation assistance is available.
