JOB SUMMARY

The National Risk Assessment Partnership (NRAP) leverages DOE's capabilities to quantify storage risks amidst system uncertainties, to help remove barriers to full-scale CO2 storage deployment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

This Research Engineer will contribute to the multi-national lab research effort by working on the post-injection site care of geological CO2 storage sites. In addition, this position will use their experienced in scientific problem-solving techniques, incorporating quick learning, teamwork and critical thinking related to reservoirs and reservoir systems to help guide this project through potential issues.

THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED

  • Ph.D. in engineering, science or related degree.
  • Experienced in scientific problem-solving techniques, incorporating quick learning, teamwork and critical thinking related to sub-surface geologic systems.
  • Builds relationships with internal and external clients who have varying backgrounds.
  • Creates and delivers oral and poster presentations of results.
  • Ability to model post-injection site care of geological CO2 storage sites
  • Ability to employ tools and methodologies to perform analyses targeted to addressing critical risk-related questions

THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED

  • Significant experience using NRAP developed tools
