Communication in English is key to this job.
This person has to be willing and able to communicate with all levels in the organization.
The Buyer’s role is to monitor inventory levels and accept special order requests and submit purchase orders to approved suppliers.
Buyer will follow up to monitor purchase order status and update estimated delivery dates when necessary and resolve order discrepancies.
Continually monitor the on-hand quantities of products and when an item falls below the minimum quantity for a warehouse, and sufficient quantities are not available at another warehouse, ensure a P.O. is placed with the supplier for that particular item.
Follow up with the supplier to ensure purchase order was received and to confirm price and ship date.
Continue regular follow-ups to ensure committed delivery date is met.
Resolve price or other discrepancies with suppliers.
Collaborate effectively with sales and customer service to ensure high quality customer satisfaction.
Understand the competitive landscape and negotiate with suppliers to reduce the cost of products to optimize gross margins.
Maintain and nurture cooperative supplier relationships.
Experience with MRP systems.
Proven ability to build strong relationships with vendors.
Metrics and Goal oriented.
Integrity is key to this positions success you must to be able to represent yourself and the Company in a positive light always.
Experience in chemicals industry a plus.
Strong Negotiation and problem solving skills.
Ability to analyze data and make decisions based on analysis.
CPIM, CSCP or CPSM Certified.
