The Channel Marketing Manager has responsibility for developing and executing tactical marketing programs for and with Platts channel partners. In addition, she/he is responsible for being the subject matter authority on marketing vehicles and their effectiveness for Platts channel partner portfolio. The role will take strategic direction from the Senior Lead, Global Channel Marketing, global head of channels and regional channel sales managers, and will work closely with channel management, product marketing, field marketing, sales and the marketing counterparts at each channel partner.

The channel marketing manager will also be responsible for running allocated marketing budgets, adhering to established channel marketing processes, generating new ideas, being the brand ambassador, reporting on agreed Channel KPIs, handling reference libraries and inventories, liaising with internal ‘agencies’ (Content, Creative, Program Management, Marketing Operations, Client Support and other stakeholders) to maintain regional channel program successes.

Responsibilities

  • Web content maintenance and oversight – within S&P Global Platts and content stored on partner websites
  • Agency management – Writing content and producing content for email programs liaising with S&P Global
  • S&P Global Platts brand guardian within the channel partner network
  • Joint marketing planning for tactical program executions including timelines and deliverables
  • Deliver joint partner programs, demand waterfall and lead distribution
  • Manage marketing updates to channel partner portal (P3 Platts Partner Portal)
  • Understanding process for identifying joint partner target markets, value propositions and go-to-market
  • Manage supply of training material for joint partner customers e.g. user guides
  • Reporting on tactics and metrics from regional channel marketing programs within the established campaign
  • Data analysis: mining different data sources to report on regional channel metrics
  • Ability to interpret the science behind numbers and devise actionable insights from data sets
  • Data gathering for monthly/quarterly regional channel marketing reports
  • Understanding the different marketing systems in the market, managing telemarketing agencies and related

Skills

  • Digital media skills including search engine marketing (SEM), social media, podcasts and videos
  • Email platforms (Knowledge of Marketo and Eloqua is a bonus)
  • Content syndication, workflow and project management tools
  • CRM tools (Salesforce knowledge is helpful)
  • Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc)
  • Knowledge of the energy and commodities industries and the key players
  • Knowledge and understanding of marketing subscription-based products/services
  • Deep understanding of how S&P Global Platts’ customers engage with and use our services for energy trading
  • Consistent track record of designing and implementing successful campaigns involving complex, integrated multi-touch components
  • Understand the principles behind persona-based marketing
  • Results driven – always using predetermined metrics to measure success
  • Must be especially organized and able to plan effectively
  • Possess a commitment to succeed and an openness to explore new ideas that support the Channel program
  • Be able to lead multiple projects on time, to deadlines and on budget, from end to end
  • Have experience of managing internal stakeholders, external agencies and vendors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing or related field
  • 8-10 years B to B marketing experience
