Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the change management process by making sure changes are identified, quantified, and submitted to the client in a timely manner
  • Ensure changes are identified and the schedule / cost impacts are estimated
  • Develop detailed Change Requests with requiredsupporting documentation, negotiate changes with the Client, and seek Change Orders from the Client
  • Work closely with the Project Controls Manager and the Contracts Manager to provide timely submissions and information in order to assist negotiations with the client
  • Work with the Cost Control Lead and the Project Scheduler to update the project budget and schedule accordingly
  • Communicate the scope of each change with field supervision and ensure time and progress is properly getting captured
  • Track actuals against changes, capture progress and forecast each change to completion
  • Ensure any adjustments to the changes are communicated, incorporated, tracked, and closed out correctly
  • Collect daily LEMS against changes and seek approval from the Client
  • Maintain the Change Management log with the current status of each change and ensure key indicators are being communicated
  • Support the Contract Manager in writing contractual correspondence
  • Have a good understanding of the contractual requirements in order to identify and understand any potential changes

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum of 5-years of experience in project coordination, project controls, quantity survey or a specialized position supporting or managing the change management process
  • Estimating background is an asset
  • Ability to review and understand construction drawings, scope each change down to its parts, and coordinate estimation of each change
  • Experienced in working on a joint venture team is an asset
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Sound understanding of Project Controls and Change Management requirements on major projects
  • Previous experience of fixed price Major Projects (over $200m) in a senior level is an asset
  • Claimsexperience in substantiating cost and schedule impact on major projects of a complex nature
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent people and leadership skills
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external legal counsel and experts
  • Enthusiastic team player
