A Brief Summary of This Position:

We are searching for an experienced business analyst who can support, envision and execute the engineering digital transformation of Valmont Industries, Inc. by shaping the environment using change management practices and driving the change. The goal is to apply a structured methodology and facilitate change management activities to make the enterprise tools implementation smoother.

Essential Functions:

The business transformation analyst is will play a key role in analyzing business needs and ensuring engineering IT projects achieve the results of the change initiative, including scope, cost, schedule and user adoption. This person will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology to make it more user friendly and easy for the users to adapt. The business transformation analyst will act as a coach for drafting leaders and engineering managers in helping them fulfill the role of change sponsor. The business transformation analyst may also provide direct support and coaching to all levels of managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions educating on the best practices and creating quick reference guides. This person will also support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.

  • Analyze the business needs and understand user and stakeholder concerns, as well as change management needs and transformational goals
  • Facilitate tool demo’s and brainstorming discussions to solve the business problem leveraging PLM, MBE and CPQ capabilities
  • Apply a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support the “new way of workingrequired by an engineering IT project or initiative or application rollout
  • Drives functional and technical designs understanding business requirements following up with internal and external teams
  • Owns the usability of a technical solution that connects various enterprise systems like CPQ, PLM, ERP, and CRM
  • Coordinates with Valmont divisions and product owners to build synergies around process and roll out plans to help the digital transformation
  • Manage, use and maintain training plans and communication schedules understanding and applying industry standard best practices
  • Research overall solutions in the market based on the business needs and help creating the justification for rolling out of strategic initiatives
  • Coordinates the prioritization process working with engineering leaders across the globe in a matrixed environment
  • Own the design, development, delivery and management of periodic program / project communications to stakeholders
  • Assess the change impact by doing the impact analysis, change readiness and work with the key stakeholders
  • Support training efforts by providing input, document requirements and own the design and delivery of training programs
  • Conduct and/or actively participate in meetings related to the designated project/s, both locally and internationally, with clients and/or partners. Direct the IT/technology change management activities.
  • Advise and recommend enterprise best practice processes, and methodologies. Implement the strategy for transitioning from current process to the new process
  • This position reports to the Senior Director Engineering Technology and in future leads a group of business analysts
  • This role requires up 30% travel both domestically and internationally

Other Important Details about the Role:

This position plays an integral role in enabling global blueprinted process and technology strategies wrapped around PLM, CPQ, CRM and ERP systems. You will collaborate with internal technology groups to ensure that proposed program rollouts align with the company's overall objectives and Engineering IT vision and allows smoother user transitions. The following is expected:

  • Complete change management assessments
  • Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics related to ongoing IT engineering programs
  • Ability to foresee problems thinking through scenarios of “Day 1 after Go-live” and prepare materials, knowledge base and arrange resources to make a smoother “Day 1 Go-live” experience
  • Consult and coach project teams on usability and user experience
  • Create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan
  • Support and engage senior leaders
  • Coach managers and supervisors
  • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities
  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists
  • Integrate change management activities into project plan
  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness
  • Manage stakeholders
  • Track and report issues
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
  • Support change management at the organizational level
  • Manage the change portfolio
  • Remain active in external networks to proactively integrate new technologies, as business needs change
  • Actively participate in the development of the functional area/digital global strategy
  • Maintain proficiency in Agile development methodologies and demonstrate understanding of the product owner role

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or Associate’s Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or 10+ years relevant experience
  • Ability to demonstrate change management acumen and understanding of principles, methodologies and tools
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge on PLM, Model Based Engineering, CPQ Technologies
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time locally and internationally based on the business needs

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Computer Science, Information Systems (IS), or another relevant academic discipline
  • Ten years or more experience in corporate IT business analytical role
  • Valmont business systems and process knowledge (for internal candidates only)
  • Clear understanding and passion for industry trends such as the digital twin, Industry 4.0, digital thread concepts
  • PLM/ PDM /CPQ/ERP/CRM Enterprise Architecture and design Experience
  • Active participant in latest technology trends communities
