Growing pharmaceutical company is looking for a CFO.
The CFO will serve as a critical member of the small management team in a growing, entrepreneurial organization. The CFO will be responsible for driving the company's financial vision and direction, all aspects of financial reporting and analysis, and working hand in hand with Operations in providing real time KPI's. The CFO will be a hands-on agent for change with experience in supporting and leading a LEAN transformation (both financial and IT aspects), to help drive daily and weekly kpi's to every person in the organization. In our entrepreneurial environment the CFO must be capable of achieving results in a hands-on manner with limited staff. The CFO will manage the company's financial reporting and controls process and will have a broad responsibility for financial analysis, cost accounting, risk management, tax, treasury, accounting, and business planning. The CFO is in charge of the company's financial and accounting activities, this executive will ensure that liquidity and cash is generation are at appropriate levels. The CFO will work closely with the operating business leaders to assist in general financial oversight and planning. In particular, the CFO will have specific duties that include:
o Implementing and maintaining costing system to analyze margins by customer and product and compare cost of actual production runs to standards
o Providing daily/weekly KPI's, cost analysis, and product line segment profitability to support a LEAN transformation
o Driving the "bottoms-up" monthly, quarterly, annually, and long-term financial forecasts and metrics
o Enhancing internal management controls
o Providing analysis of financial results as well as driving the development of robust monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages
o Proactively managing inventory, cash flow, and AP / AR to acceptable levels
o Direct and provide oversight for the internal HR and IT functions
o In conjunction with the CEO, design and implement a monthly reporting package. Prepare or oversee preparation of appropriate analyses of variances to budget and forecasts. Identify and report developing trends and relevant performance metrics. Identify operational issues manifesting themselves in the financial results and participate with management in the development of operational strategies to mitigate the issues identified.
o Communicating regularly on the operating results and trends with the CEO
o Working in concert with the other members of the management team to drive the strategic planning process
o Other: Special projects and duties as assigned by the CEO
The successful candidate must have prior stand-alone Finance / CFO experience, in a manufacturing business. A successful candidate will have significant experience in all aspects of financial reporting, KPI implementation and cost accounting. We seek a candidate with a proven leadership track record. This individual must have strong management skills, including spearheading process and systems improvement projects. This executive should be a team player, equally effective as a team leader or team member.
The CFO will be a change agent, role model, and mentor capable of representing not only the financial function (i.e. driving world class financial standards) but also the entire top management team. Able to attract and draw talent, this executive will embody strong communication skills and have a sense of leadership for the rest of the organization. The CFO have strong conceptual and analytical problem solving skills, and have solid business judgment. As important as the previously discussed traits, we seek an individual with unquestioned integrity and the courage and thoughtfulness to act properly in all business situations.
Specific requirements include:
o BS in finance or business operations-related degrees required. MBA preferred
o CPA or CMA is preferred
o Track record of strong leadership as a CFO and a desire to participate in a team environment
o Significant experience in the financial and management aspects of the job
o Demonstrated experience in organizational and process improvement including LEAN transformation
o Experience working with a private equity backed company is a strong plus
o Minimum of 10 years quality financial experience
o Experience with implementing and working with an ERP platform in a manufacturing environment
o Operationally oriented, with the ability to appreciate and identify with operating executives and the issues and opportunities of the business
o Must be capable of working in a small company environment with a hands-on approach to accomplish goals and objectives
