S. Webster Inc Executive Search is a retained executive search firm, which specializes in senior finance executives. Our client is a developer and manufacturer of chemical instruments and diagnostic equipment and supplies. The company has rapidly growing revenues exceeding $100 million, is profitable, has good cash reserves and a world class executive team.

We are conducting a retained national search for a successful, experienced chief financial officer capable of providing strong financial leadership, while preparing the company for a major liquidity event within a 24 month time frame.

The Company:

The Company develops, manufactures and distributes their line of chemical instruments, diagnostic equipment and supplies to research and development centers, clinical laboratories and healthcare providers - for use in diagnostics, testing and research in the medical, biotechnology, agricultural, food and beverage products and pharmaceutical industries.

The company, which is completing the relocation of their corporate office from the east coast to the Las Vegas, Nevada area, is experiencing high growth and expanding market share due to their leading edge, proprietary, technology. The company has rapidly growing revenues exceeding $100 million, is profitable and has good cash reserves. The company has a strong R&D department, and is receiving numerous investment and acquisition offers. This company is a carve-out from a large multinational corporation and has a highly successful world class executive team and deep pocket investors.

The CFO:

The Chief Financial Officer will be in charge of the company's finances, financial strategy and will be the CEOs chief adviser and resource on when, where and how to allocate capital to continue the successful execution of the company's growth strategy. The CFO will also be an integral part of formulating and adapting the company's overall corporate strategy to meet market conditions. The CFO will provide the CEO, the board and investors with timely, accurate and contextual analysis, forecasting, projections and reporting. The CFO will implement and oversee the financial structures to support strong growth.

The CFO will not be involved in the day to day accounting issues, but they need to be able to manage those who are from a position of experience. The CFO will hold ultimate responsibility for all the finance department's functions, which include: budgeting, cash flow, HR, analysis, forecasting, reporting, compliance, internal auditing and implementation of financial controls and metrics. The CFO will provide analysis and reports on proposed and existing projects to the CEO and investors. The CFO will be the company's primary interface with the investment and banking communities. The CFO should be experienced with investor relations and the various forms of debt and equity capital. The CFO will work with the CEO and board on the development and implementation of the company's short and long-term goals, strategies and tactics, while preparing the company for a major liquidity event within 24 months. The CFO will participate in the liquidity event through equity and a bonus.

We need a combination hands on person and financial strategist, who enjoys working in a cooperative, high energy, professional environment. We need a strong CFO who can work with the CEO to open new markets, grow existing markets and do strategic financial assessments of proposed projects and decisions, and to help the company prioritize these projects and decisions based on potential returns.


To be considered, a candidate should have a minimum of 15 years successful, progressive, industry experience as a senior finance executive, with 5 years as a CFO or the top finance executive reporting to the CEO

Unimpeachable Integrity and reputation

Timely, accurate contextual analysis, forecasting and reporting

Financial controls, cash flow, budgeting, financial planning, risk management and GAAP compliance

Manage investor and banking relations

Work effectively with the CEO and investors to raise and allocate debt & equity capital

Liquidity events and Investor exits

Partner with senior sales and operations executives

Contract negotiations

ERP and business intelligence software

Develop and deploy metrics and KPIs to execute continued improvements

Successfully execute strategic initiatives

Work with the CEO to drive return on investment

Recognize and focus on the factors that control cost and increase cash flow

Maintain the financial platform for a liquidity event

Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills

Articulate, with strong written and verbal skills; able to think on your feet

Ability and willingness to train and motivate young managers and directors

Minimum 4-yeardegree, MBA and CPA a plus


The compensation package is very competitive and will include: $250k - $300k base salary, generous bonus structure, equity, liquidity event bonus, full benefits and relocation assistance.
