Basic Function: The Chief Financial Officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of our client and its subsidiaries. The CFO is also responsible for the development of a financial and operational strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Principal accountabilities are:


  1. Assist in formulating and executing growth plan
  2. Develop short-term and long-term financial and tax strategies
  3. Manage the capital needs and budgeting processes
  4. Develop performance measures that support current and future needs
  5. Exemplify and maintain high levels of written and oral communication skills


  1. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  2. Ensure Daily, Weekly, Monthly reports are complete and accurate
  3. Hands on accounting of accurate Projections, WIP, Cash Flows, and Job Costing
  4. Maintain good working relationships with all members of the management team
  5. Manage the accounting, and oversee the controlling and payroll departments
  6. Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies
  7. Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
  8. Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
  9. Implement operational best practices, and GAAP Guidelines
  10. Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
  11. Ensure Daily, Weekly, Monthly reports are complete and accurate
  12. Oversee Billing, A/P, A/R, Contract Administration, and Equipment Accounting

Financial Information

  1. Hands on preparation, analysis and issuance of financial information
  2. Ensure all tax fillings are prepared, and filed accurately and on time
  3. Reportfinancial results to the CEO, specifically monthly cash and accrual forecasting


  1. Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
  2. Perform cash and checking reconciliations
  3. Arrange for debt and equity financing
  4. Oversee all funding for equipment, workforce, and operations

Desired Qualifications: The candidate for Chief Financial Officer should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, and 10+ years of progressively responsibleexperience in the Heavy Highway Construction Industry. Should have experience in partnering with an executive team. Experience with computer applications Foundation and HCSS Heavy Bid would be helpful. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations, or equivalency in years of experience in the Heavy Highway Construction industry.

Salary Range: $100K + DOE
