The Cloud Security Architect is the Cloud Security 'Thought Leader' and SME for the enterprise. Responsibilities include:

• Design, document and maintain the Cloud Security Strategy; adapt to changes in the Cloud Strategy of the organization

• Develop Cloud Security Policies & Standards, based on sound enterprise architecture practices

• Lead and drive projects to evaluate public and private cloud services/technologies as well as non-cloud solutions from a Security perspective to meet business objectives

• Create security reference architectures for the enterprise public, private, and hybrid cloud initiatives

• Provide Advisement & Consulting services to non-Security groups across the enterprise; review and assess solution proposals, identify and communicate necessary security controls to ensure the enterprise data, processes and brand are secure while enabling our Business; identify alternative solutions and mitigating controls when necessary

• Serve as a Security SME for high visibility cloud and non-cloud computing initiatives

• Analyze and design security for cloud and non-cloud application deployments and migration strategy and processes

• Liaise with other security architects and security practitioners to share cloud and non-cloud computing best practices and insights

• M&A due diligence

• Vendor solution evaluation

• Mentor and educate less experiences staff

• Maintain current technical security knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and performing research

The Cloud Security Architect should have 7+ years of experience with the following:

  • Technical Security consulting
  • Experience developing and managing Security strategies including cloud and non-cloud and strategies in a DEVOPS environment as well as traditional development environment
  • End to end experience with securing cloud solutions (preventative and detective)
  • Hands on experience implementing and securing a broad selection of cloud services for Compute, Storage, Database, Migration & Transfer, Networking & Contend Delivery, Application Integration, Management & Governance, Security, Identity & Compliance, etc. offered directly from cloud service providers as well as the marketplace
  • Experience using architecture methodologies such as SABSA, Zachman and/or TOGAF
  • Experience using container technologies such as Docker and container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes
  • Full-stack knowledge of IT infrastructure: Applications, Databases, Operating systems - Windows, Unix and Linux, Hypervisors, IP networks - WAN and LAN, Storage networks - Fibre Channel, iSCSI and NAS, Backup networks and media
  • Direct experience designing IAM technologies and services:
  • Active Directory
  • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
  • Amazon Web Service (AWS) IAM
  • Strong working knowledge of IT service management (e.g., ITIL-related disciplines):
  • Change management
  • Configuration management
  • Asset management
  • Incident management
  • Problem management

Additional Requirements:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills; able to communicate at all levels from staff to C-suite
  • Able to influence others to achieve desired result
  • Proven skills in solving complex technical problems with cross functional teams
  • Experience with security PHI, PCI and PII data in transit (internal and external) and at rest
  • Experience with FISMA, PCI and Hi-Trust controls
  • Education: Bachelors or master's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CISA, or other industry recognized certifications required
  • Additional Cloud security certifications required
