Responsibilities: 

- Manage, lead and set expectations for all levels in the maintenance work group (ie: Work Activity Coordinators, Specialists, Technicians).

- Set expectations and hold employees accountable for Core Value compliance (SHE/PSM, Ethics, Environmental

Stewardship & Respect for People) and model the appropriate behavior.

- Responsibility for overall coordination of group activities related to the setup, installation, maintenance and repair of

equipment, tools and machinery to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation.  Includes Dow DuPont employees and contract employees for all maintenance activities.

- Ensures safe, environmentally sound, reliable equipment facilities thru setting standards, improvement activities,

utilization of group resources and formulating policies in a team environment.

- Manages the planning & scheduling, staffing, and execution of daily equipment repairs, Turnarounds, and Capital

Projects.

- Develop short and long-term area plans for improvement activities, effective use of resources, training, and critical spare parts.

- Work closely with the site Reliability Engineering group to analyze equipment data and drive continuous improvement on equipment uptime.

- Responsible for setting direction and implementing key initiatives in support of key business objectives.

- Proactively interfaces with other area and site leaders, eg. peer Area Managers and Unit Managers on key topics related to the area.

- Facilitate and drive Visual Management and 5S philosophy.

- Leads continuous learning and development efforts to ensure the area is energized and performing at peak levels.

- Initiates the awards and recognition process for individuals / teams to celebrate the areas accomplishments.

- Serves as a member of the Site Maintenance Excellence and Reliability Team (SMERT) which is a team made up of the other site Maintenance Area Managers responsible for setting site policies on maintenance and personnel issues.

Dow DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers business seeks a Maintenance Group Leader for the Central Shops to lead the organization responsible for continuous improvement in equipment reliability and mechanical repair of the high pressure / high precision equipment at Sabine River Works in Orange, Texas.

The Central Shops organization supports all areas of the Sabine River Works Site along with several Joint Ventures.  The primary goal of the Central Shops group is to deliver quality and on time service thru a continuous improvement mindset for all the Dow DuPont Gulf Coast Manufacturing Sites.  The Central Shops has a deep history of supporting and maintaining the High Pressure Autoclave Units and protecting the proprietary equipment design which is a business competitive advance for the company.  The shops are also the original manufacturer of many DuPont designed high pressure components used in the process equipment.

The shops consist of 10 service oriented crews working in sync to deliver the highest quality parts to our internal customers.  These highly qualified work crews consist of the following expertise: 1) Precision Machine, 2) CNC Machine, 3) Manual Machine, 4) QA/QC Inspection, 5) Relief Valve – “VR” Stamp, 6) Fabrication & Welding – “R” Stamp, 7) Equipment Repair, Medium & High Pressure Assembly, 8) E&I / Automatic Valve, and 9) Rigging & Mobile Equipment.

 Dow DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers Business is a strong contributor to the corporation. We produce a broad range of specialty, high-value polymers for films, molding, lamination, and compounding. These products are used in applications such as food packaging, construction, wire & cable, and golf balls. The Sabine River Works site employs approximately 800 DuPont employees and a large number of contractors.

Comprised of several business units, SRW includes: Autoclaves (Units C/D/G), Copolymer Specialties Division (CSD), Incinerator (SES), Power Generation (water/steam/co-gen), and Ethylene. The units work cooperatively to produce pellets that are used in a variety of products including: perfume bottle caps, food packaging, and golf balls – to name a few.

Ethylene copolymers is a strong contributor to the corporation, representing Dow DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers portfolio. We produce a broad range of specialty, high-value polymers for films, molding, lamination, and compounding. Sabine River Works Facility is located in Southeast Texas, along the Sabine River, bordering the State of Louisiana.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering Degree Preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience with prior supervisory experience in maintenance arena which includes working knowledge of Safety/Health/Environmental, Process Safety Management, Quality, and Continuous Improvement systems.
  • Ability to collect & analyze data, identify solutions, assess risk factors, and make sound business decisions.
  • Strong oral and written skills with the ability to communicate effectively with Production, Technical and other site work groups.

  Preferred:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certified / Lean Manufacturing Methodology
  • Experience and knowledge in use of SAP-PM and Financial systems
  • High Hazard Process Experience
  • Chemical Industry Experience
