The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB is currently seeking a Central Division Construction Services Leader

HNTB is looking to partner with a construction leader to expand our existing practice that provides construction management and construction engineering and inspection services to transportation clients spanning Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa and Kansas. Primary location will be in the Dallas, Austin or Houston area. Job Summary

Responsible for direction and supervision of a multiple professional or technical groups. Directs project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments to ensure clients are provided the best design capabilities to meet their needs. Responsible for efficient, productive utilization of staff in providing high-quality service.

Essential Responsibility

  • Actively manages assigned project management activities (project scope, schedule, budget and quality management) and performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications and plan preparation.
  • Implements and executes the firm's Sophisticated Sales Approach, Sophisticated Contracting Approach and Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SSA, SCA, SDA).
  • Establishes priorities and work schedules and coordinates resource needs/assignments.
  • Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
  • Responsible for the hiring, supervision, mentoring, professional development, evaluation and termination of department staff members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Overall management direction of major transportation projects providing construction services to public transportation agencies, airports, public infrastructure agencies, transit and rail systems and toll authorities.
  • Provides guidance on programmatic initiatives.
  • Develop Division Construction Services strategic vision and drive implementation.
  • Developing leads, client contact, winning work, and ensuring profitability and effective cash flow of work performed.
  • Build and maintain existing client relationships and develop new business.
  • Lead major construction management pursuits.
  • Provide overall leadership to our existing construction services practice.
  • Represent HNTB with client, public and regulatory agencies.
  • Recruit, train and develop construction services staff.

Basic Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Engineering

16 years relevant experience

4 years supervisory experience

Preferred Qualification/Skills

  • PE/AICP
  • Experience managing construction services for DOT's, rail and transit agencies, airports or toll authorities and delivering transportation projects and task assignments
  • Must be a seller/doer with strategic vision and leadership to drive business development goals into reality a robust construction services practice.
  • TxDOT experience.
  • Management experience on highway/bridge construction projects.

General Work Conditions

Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client's job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
