Description:
Unit consists of Cath Lab and IR.
There are 3 suites/labs available.
Techs can have RCIS or ARRT certifications, depending on staffing needs.
Average cases per day ranges from 8 to 12.
Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner.
Charge Nurse and supervisor are available after hours.
Call is required for weekends, typically every other weekend, but may vary.
Weekend call runs from 3:30 PM on Friday to 7 AM on Monday.
Response time for call is 30 minutes for both nurses and techs.
Call team consists of one nurse and two techs.
Holiday call may be required, and individuals may choose to work on holidays.
Scrub color is provided.
Telemetry equipment used is Phillips.
Ventilators are available on site.
Cardiologists are on call after hours from 7 PM to 7 AM.
RT and pharmacy services are available 24/7.
Shifts are 8-hour shifts with self-scheduling hours from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Floating is required between IR, cath lab, and EP lab.
Floor-specific orientation typically lasts for one week.
Common IR cases include venous placement, port-a-cath, fistula, biliary tube, neph tube, and IVC filter.
Common Cath lab cases include left and right caths, STEMIs, ICDs, pacemakers, carotids, and peripherals.
EP lab experience is preferred for travelers.
Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.
Charting system in use is Cerner.
A BSN is not required.
Trauma level is 3.
Care setting is acute.
