This is a game-changing opportunity in the active-lifestyle space.  You will be able to directly contribute to building a brand impression and having consumers recognize Fanatics as a quality brand.   As the Category Manager of the Affinity Brands team you will be responsible for driving product direction and strategy.  You will manage a team that delivers trend right-quick to market graphic programs across all genders and leagues throughout the year on an abbreviated creation calendar.  You will be responsible for creating a range plan to support your seasonal revenue, margin and inventory goals.



  • Drive innovative ways to grow the ecommerce and wholesale businesses

  • Create channel and league line plans for the category and brief the design team directionally on your needs based on seasonality, art and speed to market.

  • Planproduct lines with the understanding of a finished, chase and blank inventory opportunity.

  • Drive key product concepts, including the creation of key story product that generates an emotional connection to the brand and consumer.

  • Analysis of competitor landscape will help drive your ability to build new growth opportunities with a focus on the women's and youth business.

  • Translate fan consumer insights into commercially viable and relevant stories.

  • Utilize and optimize the merchant planning team to track and define key business opportunities.

  • Take ownership of category margins and ultimate business portfolio management, including but not limited to regional pricing, SKU management.

  • Manage channel segmentation, including partnering with buyers to present product at key times during the year.

  • Spearhead your product presentations to ALL leagues as assigned to you.

  • Ensure alignment between sales, product, marketing, buyers, and the supply chain.

  • Recommend and drive ecommerce and wholesale MSRP to achieve category margin and profitability.

  • Present your product line to the ecommerce, buying, and in-venue teams to ensure a clear handoff as the selling season begins.



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, marketing or related field

  • Minimum of 8years of progressive product merchandisingexperience

  • Strong understanding of product creation process

  • Understanding of merchandise buying and math

  • Prior exposure to fashion, color, and trend analysis

  • Knowledge and/or passion for sports

  • Prior experience working with Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and/or Lucas Films a plus

  • Ability to lead product creation process

  • Ability to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment

  • Experience in identifying right product to meet brief

  • Experience in using and utilizing sales data to analyze and steer a business

  • Individual identifies and resolves problems in a creative, collaborative, and timely fashion. Able to see the big picture and make difficult decisions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Ability to learn and maneuver in Product-Project Management software and/or processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the job
