About the Position:

The Regional CaseMix Coordinator is responsible for assisting assigned facilities to understand, implement and enhance the PPS case-mix reimbursement system in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Must be familiar with OIG survey process.

Will manage facility OIG surveys as needed and follow up as appropriate.

Works with assigned facilities, individually and in small groups in assessing current Medicaid and PPS casemix status, planning, implementing and evaluating systems to improve the casemix index.

Recommends adjustments or alterations in programs to meet regulatory guidelines and corporate minimum standards.

Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address facility employee education

Visits assigned facilities at regular intervals.

  • Ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator, director and motivator.
  • Able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively.
  • Three to five years nursing experience as an RN with primary focus in long term care.
  • Must have valid RN license in SC or eligible for reciprocity.
  • Minimum of one year management experience in long term care.
  • RNAC certification a plus
  • Experience in MDS completion, casemix reimbursement with reimbursement impact, and OIG survey process.
  • Must have good computer skills
  • Must be able to travel extensively by air or car in assigned area, have reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
  • Some overnight travel is required.
