What you'll do: - Show respect for cultural needs, dignity, privacy and confidentiality of staff and clients
- Coach and mentor clinical supervisors on their role in overseeing care delivery and on how to support front line team members and patients and their families
- Monitor care and service delivery performance and clinical indicators
- Participate in the interviewing, orientation, ongoing supervision, and performance management of clinical supervisors
- Ensure completion of all mandatory training and skill development
- Create and maintain the on-call schedule for clinical Supervisors
- Respond to clinical concerns from staff, contractors, funders, clients and families
- Review all client safety incidents and participate in the investigation and resolution
- Provide clinical leadership at the district
- Provide oversight of CQI activities related to care and service including staff participation and problem-solving teams
- Ensure compliance to ParaMed policies, procedures and legal requirements for yourself and all staff
- Participates in necessary care conferences with Health Care team, Contractors and funders
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of government agencies, healthcare workers, and other community resources
- Demonstrate continuous learning and professional development through involvement in conferences, committees and networks
What you bring: - Registration/licensing in good standing as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with provincial regulatory college
- BScN preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years in a formal nursing leadership role required
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a practicing Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse, in a community setting
- Certification in Community Health Nursing with CNA certification preferred
- Membership with the Registered Nurses Association or Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO/RPNAO)
- Working knowledge of applicable health care legislation including Mental Health Act, Substitute Decisions Act, Healthcare Consent Act, Privacy / Personal Health Information Act and others
- Knowledge of standards of care for palliative, wound, IV therapy and other specialties in order to offer guidance on best practices in these areas
- Superior oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, contractors, and staff to resolve conflicts
- Effective skills in critical thinking and problem solving
- Flexibility in hours worked in order to accommodate operational needs
- Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families
- Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid, CPR, completed within Canada
- Excellent computer skills including experience in Word and Excel
- Able to provide a current, clear criminal back check with Vulnerable Position Screening (VPS)
