Description

Position includes day to day management and oversight of assigned capital improvement projects throughout the organization. Position is accountable for identifying, coordination and supervision of external consultants and contractors engaged to build, renovate or modernize existing facilities; installation of medical and non-medical equipment and meets with respective departments in the development, implementation and review of project plans, budgets and schedules. Accountable for the execution of assigned projects within budgetary and schedule constraints. Candidate will report to the Director, Facilities & CapEx and assist the Director in the formulation and execution of all capital programs.

Key responsibilities include:

Capital Purchases

  • Identify and evaluate Capital purchase needs.
  • Establish the budget, track variances, and manage overall spend for CAPEX. Review monthly and year-to-date capex budget
  • Lead strategic negotiations in the purchase of medical device manufacturing equipment and / or ancillary equipment
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturer on logistics, installation, training, etc.
  • Coordinate with Facilities team on machine placement, electric, compressed air and any other requirement, as needed
  • Provide cost quotes and proposals for review by senior management
  • Coordinate projects across various plants & special projects as assigned by the Director

Facilities Management

  • Acquisition of properties and / or renovation of existing facilities
  • Coordinate due diligence process for acquisition of properties
  • Collaborates with others (i.e. lines of business, landlords, lease holders, tenants, vendors, contractors, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or other programs
  • Ensures the successful execution of all construction improvement projects (capital expenditures)
  • Maintains logs and provides reporting for new construction, repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance and supplies for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently; and approving payment requests
  • Recommends and evaluates bid opportunities for ongoing maintenance and purchase of office furniture, fixtures, and maintenance plus CAPEX projects for all locations. To make sure that a minimum of 3 quotes for all projects are submitted
  • Make recommendations relative to future facility services and construction management programs for the Company, maintains value and quality of all assets
  • Proactive: anticipates issues/opportunities & can work through multiple projects
  • Capacity to manage and prioritize many different topics simultaneously
  • Will coordinate the functioning of the safety department
  • Conducts site inspections and oversee facilitation of safety education and awareness training and resources to company staff
  • Oversee OSHA compliance and assist other Globus Facilities to be compliant
  • Will oversee the safety and security of the facilities. Identify, seek approval and implement security and safety measures
  • Responsible for coordination of periodic fire drills and standardization of emergency procedures. Manages awareness to the Emergency Response Plan
  • Responsible for coordinating Workers' Compensation Claims with HR and respective parties, as directed
  • Conduct property audits and ensure company safety and operational standards are achieved
  • Perform related duties as required

Ensure Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management or a related field of study
  • 5-7 plus years of experience in strategic purchasing, with demonstrated skill for negotiation, office management and/or facilities management
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project is a plus
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills. Must have a keen attention to detail
  • Strong Team Player. Position requires interaction with all interoffice personnel, managers and officers as well as outside vendors
  • Willingness to travel to other company locations in PA, MA, TX and any other location as needed
