About the Role

As a starting point, this position has the core responsibility to play a programmatic role for the products such as Pricing or Cost Transformation (e.g. Zero based budgeting). This includes working with the Consulting Manager, Center of Expertise (currently based out of India) as well as Bain partners to deliver the PI Tools/Products in end client engagements and capture IP for ongoing process improvement.

The role would also provide the opportunity to work with the BCN head and Practice/ Product Leader to design the optimal approach to product delivery by leveraging the appropriate offshore-onsite model. Over time the role has the potential to build up to lead multiple product delivery teams for one or more high growth areas for the firm.


On client work: Project manage visibility and budgeting and results accelerator phase to define deliverables; prioritize and adhere to deadlines and deliver high quality output:

  • Play a conduit role between onshore case team and offsite CoE team as well as have individual responsibility for parts of the deliverable as below:
    • Work with case team manager to understand scope of work and provide advice on appropriate CoE role, team size, structure, and timelines
    • Liase with the client map to understand client systems, data structures
    • Work with case team to perform analysis and client materials on predefined modules / work streams
    • Translates data to meaningful and actionable approaches/processes
    • Leverage CoE teams as appropriate to deliver on work streams
    • Train clients (in conjunction with the Consulting Manager) to implement new approach and appropriate tools (e.g. GEP, Anaplan, Social media)
    • Project Manage appropriate tools proprietary or third party with support from implementation team
    • Co-locating with Bain case team or offshore CoE through case duration as required
  • Beyond specific client work
    • Work closely with BCN initiative leader and Product Manager to help with proposal and other areas as required to deepen ability to serve and increase adoption of CoE based delivery model
    • Support BCN lead in ongoing dialog with key stakeholders to understand future and changing needs and influence team priorities, capabilities and structure accordingly
    • Proactively suggests solutions; drive new demand for CoE, within and beyond current scope
  • Team
    • Exert strong positive influence and professional development for team member by leveraging content expertize to provide coaching on problem solving, work-planning, data analysis etc. as applicable
    • Constructively engage in mutual feedback process with supervisor and team members
    • Participates in developing programmatic elements of the initiative they are part of, including planning, recruiting, developing people, training etc. as required


  • BA or equivalent undergraduatedegree with strong academic credentials or MBA study in analytical fields with 4-6 years of experience in a global professional services/ strategy consulting firm
  • Experience in business research and data analytics with willingness to acquire domain expertise
  • Strong business judgement orientation, analytical ability, and problem solving skills
  • Relevant subject experience (Zero Based Budgeting, pricing, digital) / financial performance management beneficial
  • Prior experience/ familiarity using relevant software packages; Interest in learning technical skills and spearheading the adoption / development tools required for delivery (e.g. Anaplan for ZBB)
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to drive and influence senior level discussions succinctly to favorable outcomes.
