  • LinQuest is seeking a Joint Exercise, Wargames, Campaign Training/Planning SME to join our team at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs. The highly skilled and motivated Joint Exercise, Wargames, Campaign Training/Planning SME will join a high-performance team to establish, develop and support the Joint Education and Training Division for the Space Operations Force in US Space Command (USSPACECOM). Position includes the development of courseware materials and curriculum, and providing instruction; planning, development, execution, and analysis of Command-wide training, education, professional development, and organizational development programs and processes.   • Responsibilities:
  • Duties and Responsibilities are broad in nature and candidates will flex to the needs of the J7 staff.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute individual and collective training for the operational certification of JOC crews, as well as support the collective training for USSPACECOM members; all curriculum, courseware materials, and instructions will be at the direction, review and approval of the unit government entity; provide on-site Joint Mission Training support and assistance as follows:
  • USSPACECOM requires specialized instructors and critical support personnel capable of successfully executing the USSPACECOM mission; support individual training through administration of the USSPACECOM Training Program, to include:
  • Develop and maintain a standardized training plan and training program format
  • Develop and maintain a JOC certification and qualification course; includes lesson material and/or updates to include course syllabi, visual aids (e.g. slides), tests (including multiple versions), quizzes, course capstone materials, student critique forms, grading rubrics and handouts, hands-on simulation training, and facilitating on-the-job training
  • Instructors shall be prepared to instruct all lessons of all USSPACECOM JOC Certification Course; participate in all course planning, execution, and post-execution meetings and activities; review course critiques for all classes and recommend class and/or course changes to the respective J7 leadership; provide certification/decertification recommendation for instructors working in their area of instruction to J7 leadership
  • Assist the government in the planning, preparation, maintenance/updating, and execution of: collective periodic training events (e.g., IMATs, TTXS, or similar media); and, preparing and updating all training materials and scenarios including administrative data, agenda, scenarios, intelligence, injects, operations orders, messages, data collection forms, and other pertinent information
  • Support the government in the design, planning, rehearsal, and conduct of all IMAT events; coordinate, integrate, and execute IMATs, demonstrations, Table Top Exercises (TTX), mini- exercises, or wargame events
  • Support the government in the design, planning, rehearsal, and conduct of CJCS Staff Assessment Visit (SAV) training events; Provide exercise observers, trainers, assessors, facilitators and role- players, as required
  • Coordinate, schedule, maintain, test and configure equipment systems of the Joint Training and Exercise Control Center (JTECC), WGC, and Directorate conference rooms. Maintain configuration management documentation for communications systems in the JTECC and J7 spaces
  • Provide JECG augmentation during training, exercises, wargames, TTXs, and realworld event preparation
  • Support the establishment of the Joint Exercises and Wargaming Division
  • Support planning, development, execution, and analysis of joint exercises and wargames.
  • Exercise Program, explains policies and procedures for planning, coordinating, preparing, and implementing USSPACECOM Joint Exercises and support to other Combatant Command exercises; wargame events may include wargames, Table Top Exercises (TTXs), Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) drills, and seminars
  • Provide on-site support and assistance to plan, develop, execute, and analyze joint exercises and wargames; establish the Joint Exercise Life Cycle for USSPACECOM Tier 1 exercises
  • For each joint exercise or wargame event, assist with the planning, coordination, and support for conferences such as the Concept Development Conference (CDC); Initial Planning Conference (IPC); Mid-Planning Conference (MPC); Final Planning Conference (FPC); and Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) Synchronization Conference (SYNCH)
  • For each joint exercise or wargame event, chair planning work groups as determined by the joint exercise or wargame lead planner and Division Chief; Work group chair responsibilities include develop training objectives and design joint exercise or wargame events scenarios to satisfy accomplishment of training objectives
  • Develop Master Scenario Events and implementers in the accomplishment of training objectives. Joint exercise and wargame event implementers may include simulated message traffic, Command and CJCS messages, phone calls, e-mails, media queries, media reports (video and written), letters, radio traffic, conference role-player scripts, orders, GCC daily Air Tasking Orders, requests for forces, force allocation and positioning, Interagency reports, notifications, meeting minutes, speeches, press releases, social media injects and other inputs designed to simulate a realistic geopolitical background or elicit a response from the joint exercise or wargame event training audience in order to achieve training objectives
  • Provide Modeling and Simulation development, integration, and execution support and assistance, including supporting analysis, review, and assessment of key performance parameters and coordinating with appropriate system architects/engineers to resolve any issues or troubleshoot M&S tools being used and provide resolution to obtain the needed capability
  • Use government provided tools and models, develop, test, and execute fully integrated and dynamic M&S to stimulate all display systems used during exercises, training, and wargames
  • Requirements
  • Required Experience:
  • Current/relevant space/joint operations exercise, training, wargames and campaign planning/execution background/experience
  • 10+ years experience with education and training, exercises, and wargames
  • Previous experience on a CCMD, MAJCOM or HHQ staff highly desired
  • For certain positions, 5+ years modeling and simulation experience highly desired
  • Ability to identify and resolve challenges at a strategic level
  • Ability to brief/interactive with senior (GO/FLAG) level officer and senior civilians
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required
  • Completion of JPME I is highly desired, and JPME II is preferred
  • US Citizenship and an active DoD Active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position
