The FCA Powertrain organization is currently seeking a Calibration Engineering Supervisor to join the team at the Chelsea Proving Grounds in Chelsea, Michigan. The Calibration Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading a group of engineers in the engine calibration of a state of the art engine platform. The Supervisor ensures that the work is managed through direct reports to achieve all specified functional objectives and calibration maturity requirements at specified milestones for a given vehicle application. He/she will plan resources, timelines, and monitor the work of a group of 6-10 engineers responsible for the engine calibration to support vehicle application programs. In addition, the Supervisor will report progress to goals, issues, and risks to senior level management in concert with the engine chief engineer; and provide employee performance feedback at yearly reviews.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum 8 years of professional engineering experience in the automotive industry
  • Minimum 5 years of spark-ignition engine development and calibration experience
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a team or project
  • Experience with ETAS/INCA calibration tools
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Working knowledge of engine analysis and calibration tools, emissions regulations, engine technologies, and, competitive products
  • Strong understanding of emission regulation test cycles and AECD
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Database management of production calibrations
  • Experience working with high performance engines
