Danaher`s Water Quality Business is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. Our water quality business provides products under a variety of brands, including HACH, ChemTreat, and Trojan Technologies.


Description

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for global leadership within the Claros Business Unit. The Business Unit Manager builds and develops a high-performing team of product management professionals, and leads this team to drive long-term commercial success of the new and growing Hach software portfolio. This includes collaboration with the greater commercial organization (Sales & Marketing) to commercialize new products, create and deliver annual growth plans, and generally help Hach customers more effectively meet their water quality and regulatory requirements.  
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide leadership and drive cross-functional alignment to deliver company objectives, including but not limited to:Leadership

  • Build and develop a highly-engaged, high-performing, growth-oriented team
  • Ensure the team is doing the right things (focusing on the critical few) and doing things right (leveraging DBS and best demonstrated practices)
  • Motivate associates to perform at their highest levels
  • Remove obstacles to growth through creative, cross-functional collaboration 

Growth, Product Management and New Product Commercialization

  • Deliver annual objectives for the Claros Business Unit including revenue, margin, share gain, pricing, quality, and successful new product commercialization.  Lead cross-functional problem solving when performance is not meeting targets
  • Collaborate with peers in the Claros and Commercial teams to determine customer needs and provide input to the new product roadmap to better define future product releases that meet the most critical of customer needs
  • Develop compelling product strategies to ensure the long-term commercial success of the category
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to demonstrate new and higher standards for well-executed new product introductions and commercial tactics to drive growth for existing products
  • Drive execution of temporary countermeasures to quality and delivery issues even before root cause is determined to maintain customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field; MBA preferred 
  • Minimum 5years of experience; product management/ marketingexperiencepreferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize a collection of facts into logical and actionable conclusions
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for direct communication with customers, colleagues and partners at all levels and across all functions and regions of the organization
  • Able to elicit and understand customer needs and translate customer needs into product requirements
  • Able to identify and prioritize the tasks necessary to meet long- and short-term objectives, effectively manage time and multi-task to achieve these objectives
  • Able to travel up to 25%
  • Fluent in English
  • Driver’s License
  • Understanding of the customer segments and product applications is a plus
  • Understanding of the trends impacting the company and its product lines is a plus
  • Understanding of commercializing software a plus
