As WatchGuard implements new cloud services this Product Manager will act as Product Owner for improvements to our business systems in support of these initiatives.  Reporting to the Director of Product Management, this role will be responsible for maintaining a deep understanding of how new business models will impact existing systems (financial, sales, activations, etc). This individual will be responsible for the following functions:

Defining Requirements and User Stories:  Interact with our distribution partners, other Product Managers within WatchGuard (Market Owners), and otherinternal stakeholders to understand how new business models impact our internal systems and the systems of our partners.  Ability to clearly communicate these requirements is paramount.

Quote to Cash to Activation: Each step leverages multiple systems within WatchGuard, its distributors and its partners.  The Product Owner will understand the lifecycle of our products through two-tier distribution and in to the hands of our customers.

Solution Definition: Responsible for understanding and defining a full solution that serves the Market

Grooming product backlogs and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast paced environment.  Create and groom short, medium and long-term product roadmaps and get internal agreement with key stakeholders. 

Competitive reviews:  Study competitive business models in the market to help anticipate customer and partner needs.

Cross functional collaboration:  Build close relationships with Engineering, IT, Technical Publications, Finance, other product managers and Technical Support to understand impact before a release and measure effectiveness after; monitor & report on progress. 

Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have the following experience and knowledge:

5+ years of product management experience

Extensive experience writing user stories, test cases, and other forms of detailed requirements

Strategic thinking about business models, product and market direction

Understanding of security and networking technologies.

Can work effectively with business leaders, technical and finance teams

Excellent verbal and communication skills

Strong knowledge of agile development practices, methodologies and tools, and direct hands on experience with writing user stories is a strong plus
